If the Gods are smiling on us and we get 3 points at OT today, then the Spuds game will have a different flavour! My only worry is that Rafa selects a team on his "rotation" system, rather than the best available!
which is why we must win today. Anything less than 3 points, and it gives them the opportunity to go above us if they win on Wednesday. Rafa absolutely needs to field the best possible team - although these days it's hard to know what that is in certain positions (striker, central midfielders, central defenders)
I disagree. The games that matter now are Spuds and Villa. Win those 2 and our superior gd means we will be in the cl,even if it's 4th spot. They are the 2 games to concentrate on.
It's a must not lose game rather than a must win IMO. We have to assume Spurs and Arsenal will take maximum points from the games we don't control
Ok district...you win...everton are out of the equation...great win for you guys today...if you could just let us win on Wednesday that'd be great ... You'll still be 3rd ... We'll be 4th and arsenal 5th... What do you say
Well don't! Every time we've got to 4 points from them, I've started doing that and we've gone and ****ed it up! Let's just focus on winning all of our remaining games this season, and the league position will sort itself out
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...jciech-Szczesny-questions-Tottenham-s-quality Not really a wise move. Does Sczcesny realise a Spurs win on Wednesday virtually places Arsenal in the Europa League? Done AVB's team talk for him really.
Hes a prize muppet the only questionable quality he should concern himself with is his own very questionable record between the sticks.
It really is a dangerous game, but Arsenal have put all their chips on the table and are pretty much banking on us beating Spurs to secure them top 4. Spurs could be 4 points clear before Arsenal next kick a ball. I would agree Arsenal probably have more quality than Spurs, but I disagree with Sczcesny when he says they don't have enough quality. When their best XI is out, they are a match for any side irrespective of the over-reliance on Bale and distance shooting.
Had we not been robbed at Anfield, I wouldn't have ruled it out BM, but if you could hand pick 3 fixtures to choose from, City pretty much have all of them. We will finish below City because of our poor head to head record against them, against the rest of the league we've easily matched them over the course of the season despite all our problems. Not sure if that says a lot about us or them though.
It tells me they like the rest of us have been **** and United have simply won on consistency due to how poor the rest have been rather than being that good.
Think they were better last season when VDV and Modric was there really, and their football was much better and more entertaining, they seem more tactical this season but are better defensively.
Again, spot on. This is why I believe the quality of the league has deteriorated. We could still yet get 77 points this season, which would exceed our points tally for the last two seasons. 11/12 perhaps understandable, but there is no way this team is better than the team we had in 10/11. We had to work far harder for points that season, so did everybody. Had Benitez not pissed about with the squad in the Newcastle, QPR and Southampton games we could have easily had 80-85 points. United could have easily had 90-97 points had they not taken their foot of the gas. United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs all weaker than 2/3 seasons ago ----> More Points. Why? Because Fulham, Stoke, Villa, Newcastle and all the midtable sides have got weaker too so they haven't had to be as strong and when they do face stronger competition i.e Europe, they are found out. Same with Barca/Real this year.
The actual stats don't agree with you. They have already conceded 2 more than last season with 3 games to go.
what about the clean sheet record, surely that has improved and they have had Dawson for the majority of the season haven't they
