    Since the start of the PL, no side that has started the final day in the top 2 has failed to be promoted.

    No team had ever been automatically promoted with more than 10 defeats - we had 15.

    It's the first time that the top scorer for both of the top 2 sides has had less than 10 goals. (Boyd has 10, but got some for P'boro)

    It's that second stat that sums us up. We went for a win or bust attitude. Very few draws with 2 of our total of 7 being in the last 3 matches.

    In 97/98 the bottom 5 in the Football League were Swansea, Cardiff, Hull, Brighton and Doncaster.

    Thanks for that Gawge, incredible stat....3 deffo Prem..1 could join us and the other just promoted Champs into the Championship..where were QPR & Reading...better still Wolves and L***s ???

    I posted this link a few weeks ago but here it is again. Mental!

    But to be honest those teams with that sort of potential should never have been allowed to get to that state in the first place. A bit like what Portsmouth and Plymouth are going through now, (whilst Southampton are in the PL and Bournemouth have just been promoted to the Championship).
