I tend to agree with that view Trundle. we wouldnt spend money unless we thought we could get a future first team player out of it, of course the odds are usually slim but i beleive the club have the best intentions as do alot of the smaller clubs. One Joe Allen every 4/5 years is £15m in the bank and thats what most clubs are aining for,its everyones intrest to progress these players. Man city /chelsea arnt really following that are they.

I don't think including Sturridge in there is fair. Brenda clearly brought him to Liverpool for first team football on a pretty regular basis. Rodwell also has been unlucky as he's been injured for pretty much the entire time he has been at Man City, otherwise he would have played for them.

You're right about Sinclair though. Went for the money and because his now ex girlfriend wanted out of Swansea. City only wanted him to meet a quota.

Sinclair should have known better. He was bought as a homegrown replacement for another homegrown player in the same position: Johnson.
The difference being that Johnson was was a better player who left as he wasn't getting games. Did sinclair really think he was better than Johnson? Did he look at Man City's formation and see that they rarely use wingers? Idiot chasing money.

It's one of those rare occasions in football where everyone, and I mean EVERYONE knew it would end in tears.

Difference is Ben would make an impact.

With the boss talking about him moving into central defence, Neil Taylor back and Tiendalli showing form maybe a move would be the best way for Davies develop - don't want him to go and I don't think he does either but ..

I'd be totally shocked if Ben went there now. He's had almost one season playing in the first team. He's earning more money than all of us on here already and will probably be given more really soon anyway. He'd be better off staying put for at least another season , maybe two before looking to make the jump to a top 5 club. I think if he was going to go anywhere then Spurs would be the best place for him.

Whilst ben has had a superb season and should have been included in the young player of the year. He is still learning and even though he may not play as many games next year, he will play a lot more here than he would at city, If he wants to keep developing stay and the big clubs will be there in the future.
