Well said. Ashley has made good decisions over the last two seasons regarding the finances of the club and until we have proof to the contrary we expect heavy investment in players this summer. Without knowing the full story it is unfair and illogical to jump on the Barton bandwagon and damn the club without knowing more than we do.

Who knows maybe Pardew is putting in bids for midfielders who will reduce Barton's importance to the squad meaning that Barton is now just too expensive for the wage model they have planned, i.e. we hope to get somebody who can do the same for less money than Barton wants! Lets show some patience!

I also think that the club have plenty of time to change their minds in the next season. If Barton plays very well next season then what's to say the club won't approach him again with a new contract. A lot can happen from now till next January.

Why would he do that? The players are an asset of the club. By selling the top players you devalue the overall value of the club as a whole.

Mike has placed £250 ish million into Nufc.

Getting a return of £40 million on players, buying cheap dross as replacements and then trying to sell the club for a value of £200 million to almost break even makes it invalid.

I wish some people would buy an idiots guide to economics.

He's no mug when it comes to business.

  8. Well there's no chance in hell he's going to get all the money he's lost back.

I'd just be happy with all the Carroll money to spend on the players, then he can keep all the TV money and the money he'll get of Enrique, just basically every single penny the club brings in, he can keep, but please Mr Ashley, give us the 35m and that's it.

He can get his money back by keeping what ever else we may recieve, aslong as he doesn't go selling all our best players and claiming "it's 35m we had no choice but to accept".

In one case i agree 35m was too much to turn down, but he can't just go sell all of our players just because "we recieved an offer that we just couldn't turn down".

He'll come up with excuses to make it look like the club didnt have a choice, when really the owner always has a choice.

He's no mug when it comes to business in your opinion, but in my opinion doing everything by the cheapest possible means can lose you more money in the long term.

That's why i think Ashley as a business man should look at what the club would have suffered if we got relegated again, and then apply that to his decision not to offer Barton a new contract.

A player willing to take a pay cut that's held this teaem together and kept us up this season. Ashley may not give a **** about that sort of thing, but he should really think about how a club gets money.

    Points = £££

Without Barton we would have been relegated, simple as. Relegation would cost him a ****ing fortune, and also kill the club financially.

Mike Ashley is an intelligent man, but not a Wise one most of the time. He knows nothing about football.

Tash I don't mean this to come over as offensive but ... Ashley is learning about football and has footballing men to advise him. However, your knowledge of economics and financial matters is far worse than your opinion of Ashley's footballing knowledge, but unlike him you don't have anybody advising you. Drop the financial debates you really don't have a clue what you are talking about!

  11. Yes i know, but we won no games without Barton, and lacked any sort of creativity in most games without him.

I'm not trying to disrespect the rest of the team by saying Barton was the only reason we stayed up, i'm not saying that, but he's been the main reason we've stayed up.

We won no games without his involvement. Some may say this is just coincidence, but you can definitely see the difference in the team without him.

The only thing that will make him think to sell is if everyone stops going. And that will never happen. Until he's had enough, we'll just lurch from one tragedy to the next.

Myself along with a few others had a similar debate with you last night and you said the same things. You were shot down by various people but would not listen. As a result I can't be bothered to try and reason with you on the subject, but felt the need to advise you to stop talking rubbish about a subject you are obviously not clued up on enough to debate intelligently about. Take the advice or not I don't really care.

One way or another he's going to get the money back, we'll probably still owe him some after he sells us. And tash you literally have no idea how the economics of a football club work so why are you telling us all what Ashley (a successful businessman) should be doing?

He's making a valid point there though HMT, Mike Ashley is a billionaire. It didn't happen by accident.

  19. And ofcourse you know better than me, simply because i'm tash i don't know anything about anything so i can't offer my opinion about subjects such as this because i don't know what i'm talking about.

I disagree with you, that doesn't mean i don't know what i'm talking about.

I put a valid arguement up there, take it or leave it, but don't just type a ****ty little comment saying i don't know what i'm talking about.
