Hull played some fantastic football first half of the season and dug in and ground out results towards the end. Time and time again bruce got the big decisions right. As for Elmo I agree a very good championship player, but I think he"ll struggle in the ELP, jury is out on Meyler to, but they both helped us massively. Hope you survive so we can play you, not many away games around here
Brucey is a nice bloke and I did not condone the actions of a minority of fans who called him a "fat Geordie bastard etc", but things had gone sour for him really badly here and he simply had to go. He blamed the poor results on injuries, players leaving, the fans' expectations, being a Geordie, pretty much everything, except himself. Hull is a good club for him with decent fans, and I wish him well.
He was quality in the transfer market, he bought us Sess, Catts, Bent, Ming and Gards for very good value. Unfortunately he was incapable of selecting a team. Gards or Vaughan never got a look in while he continually stuck with Catts & Colback in central mid.
These ^ he had lost the plot and the majority of fans by the time he was sacked, we were going down under mrs doubtfire, as we were (possibly could still be) under mon, no disrespect to hull (decent club & fans) but i think his bitterness comes from the fact safc is a huge job on the cv and he failed, he was being touted for england and his time has passed, probably has dreams of manure, never gonna happen now
Don't get me wrong i don't think were huge by any means but your a long way from huge and if Bruce was so bad for you how come you're fighting relegation without him
We were still fighting relegation when we had him mate, we'd just lost 2-1 at home to Wigan who hadn't won a game all season before that, and things were looking very bleak. Obviously MON was ultimately a failure as well, but at the time it was the right decision.
We were fighting relegation with Bruce. M`oN still kept a lot of the players Bruce brought in and was fighting relegation. We still have half a squad of Bruces players and we`re still fighting bloody relegation. Get the drift????
depends how you look at it, 7th highest average attendance in the prem, 4th highest turnover (significantly more after this years figures come out), grade A academy, 3rd highest sponsorship deal in world football, multi billionaire chairman, largest london supporters branch outside of london, 6th most successful top flight club, joint 6th most trophies won, 7th for seasons in the top flight, need i go on, coz i can
Hull are welcome to the fat Worzel Gummidge lookalike. He'll bomb out, like he always does at PL level. He would be a far better Head Scout than he will ever be Manager.
I backed Bruce until the day he left, but he does need to move on from this now. The bottom line is that it was results and performances that got him the sack, so he needs to stop all the other bull **** and get on with managing Hull..
now your just being a cock http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Record_home_attendances_of_English_football_clubs please feel free to do a comparisum to others outside of the below or even yourselves, are you a true football fan or a sky sports, think it all began then type of moron? 7th highest average attendance in the prem, 4th highest turnover (significantly more after this years figures come out), grade A academy, 3rd highest sponsorship deal in world football, multi billionaire chairman, largest london supporters branch outside of london, 6th most successful top flight club, joint 6th most trophies won, 7th for seasons in the top flight.
Maybe its just how you class huge (don't compare to us i know we aren't huge ) id have said you'd have to be top 2 or 3 in the things you listed except how rich your chairman is what's that got to do with anything As for the sky comments i refuse to have sky and believe they are behind what's wrong with modern football
