There's not much that we can do about it, either. We don't get penalties for it though, for some reason. I've shown you your stats minus Mata. You can barely win a league game.
They deserved at least a point... Oh and I see your apparent hoard of penalties and raise you loads of poor refereeing decisions. We should have had a penalty away to Swansea which would have won us the game. We were robbed against United at home when Clattenberg screwed us over and at Anfield the other day... well... I need not go there!
I agree. I'm sure that every team in the league has had undeserved wins, losses and draws, though. I don't think we need to go into our history with Clattenburg against Utd either, but we've been shafted by refs all over the place this season. We've not had a penalty at WHL in over 2 years.
Bale has scored or assisted a far higher percentage of your goals though. You don't win games when Bale doesn't score.
In the end it will all come down to the game on Wednesday. If we win at United tomorrow and then beat you at the Bridge we'll be safe and sound in the top 4 but if we don't get a result tomorrow, Wednesday is huge.
Bale's our leading goalscorer. Mata's your playmaker. If he doesn't play, then your team doesn't work.
Not here to crow at all but maybe Don_Tottenham and LDL will see the point I was trying to make all along. Not a chance Fergie puts out that team and they play like that if something was riding on it. Meanwhile, Wigan and Villa are racking up the points like no tomorrow. United are deserved Champions and they won't care that they lost today but certain people seriously underestimate the psychology of football.
Maybe you'll see my point about Mata carrying your team too, DL? I honestly didn't think that Ferguson would allow such an unprofessional approach to Man Utd's last couple of games, but I guess the old bastard doesn't care now that they've got the title. I'm sure that he'll be the first to complain about weakened sides next time anyone else dares to field one, though.
Phil Jones led us to victory actually Without Hazard to compliment Mata we lack cutting edge and look abject at times. Oscar has been laughably bad of late and Moses isn't really at that level. Never underestimate Ferguson's contempt for anybody else but himself. Loathesome individual. Had Wenger done the same thing under the circumstances the press would have gone after him. Fergie has no morals, principles or respect for anyone or anything. Forget Spurs or Arsenal, there are fans that would paid silly money to attend that game weeks in advance. Mancini would have been well within his rights to play the reserves against Swansea but upheld the respect and integrity of the league by fielding a strong squad.
I concede you were right, DL. Yes, you were right. Utd didn't have that competitive edge today. I don't accept the argument about a "weakened team" though. SAF has rotated his squad all season and there are 25 players who can comfortably slot into the XI without it being weakened. He wanted players who would do some running in midfield to match Chelsea, but the tactics proved to be wrong. Chelsea's back four needed a sterner test. Hernandez and Rooney should both have played.
I believe that this was his facial expression at the time: please log in to view this image Best Man Utd player ever, according to Fergie. The old twat.
I agree completely LDL, think Hernandez would have completely changed the game. It was a game which probably should have ended a draw and probably the worst United/Chelsea game in a while.
As I've said on the Arsenal board, a Spurs win on Wednesday is unlikely due to past and present form but nonetheless there is a massive chance for you to crank up the pressure this week with Arsenal not playing for a while. Today was obviously annoying from yours and Arsenal's perspective but it's by no means over. A Spurs win on Wednesday means its open game, any other result should realistically secure 4th for Chelsea. Stoke win tomorrow would help you a lot though. If Sunderland need to win at WHL on the last day they will open up a bit more and leave gaps. Generally, you've struggled at home against well organised sides which may be the case if Sunderland are stuck on 40 and come for the draw.
I'm hoping for a massive punch up and a bunch of dismissals tomorrow frankly, as we've still got to play them both! Given the way that they both approach the game, it's not that unlikely.
They have though its all been about the "weakened team" he put out and even on the phone ins tonight UTD fans were saying how disrespectful it was to Arsenal and Spurs when both teams cancelled each other out and it took a lucky deflection to decide the game.
