I think today's goal decision was the correct one. Teams like Stokerton should not be rewarded for assigning a player to wipe out the goalkeeper. Even if it had been allowed we would have had time to push for an equaliser, whereas there would have been no time to reply to Suarez's completely legitimate goal.
LoL you even dissagree with your own fans you moron.. Thanks for the Neg rep again like I give a ****... Means you have replied though..What do you think about LFC's long ball tactics today (there were a fair few lumps forward as LFC fans have stated)
Looked a good goal to me, and sorry to disagree with you Astro, but when we put Carroll on De Gea at set pieces and score from one i thought it was a master move. You need someone hard to stand their ground against this tactic - and we picked Enrique! Anyroad, thought Gerrard looked ten years younger today. Hope he has a restful summer and doesn't get involved in any meaningless England friendlies. In a so-so game, the one thing I appreciated in Carra's last match was that there was virtually no play acting o players trying to get opponents booked. Very fitting for a player who, love him or loathe him, has always got up and got on with the game without any fuss, even once when he had broken ribs! Congrats on the B/S for sixth place (for what it's worth) and they HAVE been a better team this season. Next season though.....
A keeper is just another player, why shouldn't a opposition player try to compete with them? As Donga said, it worked well with Carroll on De Gea, Kuyt was awesome at the role too.
Yes. Nonetheless, had that been the other way round (like the Suarez decision) I'd have been ****ing furious.
There was a foul and the ref blew up, there was a push. It was before Reina ran into the player, the whistle went straight away, Everton were denied nothing, if the whistle goes first how is it a disallowed goal? That's all I am saying, as soon as that whistle goes players stop playing. So, Everton were denied a chance according to Golem, but not a goal! IMO they were denied nothing and were lucky to keep lanky and Ossman on the field as both should have had 2 yellows for absolute sure. Big blue Avatar should have got a straight red for his elbow on Agger
You'd think, that & the fact they are generally 6ft+ and built like a **** house and in every challenge they have an extra 2 foot of arm advantage but hey, apparently they're made of china these days. As for the blue tart on here: its quite simple & we've been saying it for over a year: Cheating; Diving is wrong (whoops who did that today?) Assault in a non legal tackle is wrong: for you simple dude, that's punching, kicking (Rooney) biting (Suarez) elbowing (flange) ....all should be banned....but! One got a 10 game ban (not a repeat punishment according to panel) One gets the odd red card and then no repeat with the same post match, video evidence... One gets defended by the body that finds it unacceptable.... You tell me what's good about that? Nothing to do with which player should be banned; they all should. Except they weren't......
Hmmm. Fellaini was lucky that no-one was throwing themselves on the floor and clutching their faces today. And the 'goal'? Well, I don't think the whistle going had any difference on reina - he wouldn't have gotten there anyway. That said, i knew it wasn't goal before Distin headed it because I heard the whistle, BUT that didn't mean it was the correct decision or that any of the players involved could have made a different outcome had the whistle not gone. just have to disagree with you on this one Sis.
How can you talk about a game you haven't even seen And I think the call was right. If you watch distin, not anichebe, you'll see him pull and push Carragher. Twice. I agree with the call. Anichebe got a card for arguing, not fouling. Also, you can't say we must not be as good as you for not being able to break your defense down if you play ten in the back. Not that that's what happened, but it's the way you make it out. In my opinion, we played well in flashes, but didn't do enough to win. Same with Everton. And the elbows, Fellaini should have gone off the pitch, but no one made a huge reaction, which Fellaini should be thankful for. And comparing it to Suarez' bite you must be daft. We said it was awful, said he deserved to be banned. We didn't defend him so your point is honestly nonexistent. You honestly have said nothing worthwhile in those two posts.
Some posters need to know when to take the red specs off. There was ****all wrong with Evertons goal and to argue that its not a disallowed goal because the whistle went before the ball crossed the line is a absolute joke, especially consisering we clain to have been robbed in October despite the flag going up before the ball goes it!!!
Wow, gerrez, usually I agree with you. At this point, though, I don't. I disagree that we should just say they were robbed because we were robbed last time. I watched the replay multiple times, and agree anichebe did zero wrong. If you watch distin, he pulled Carragher when the ball was in the air and then pushed Carragher again right before he headed it. And it's not cause I'm a red, it's because that's what I saw. A clear push equals no goal for me. End of.
My comment wasn't aimed at you, it was aimed at certain posters that will argue black is white rather than accept something being said against Liverpool. However, since you replied, I don't agree. Carragher clearly gets a arm on his back but not enough to knock him over, I don't think he was strong enough. This is where I would like the referees to speak to the media afterwards as I'm not convinced thats the foul the ref gave. I think 0-0 was a fair result overall. We both had chances in a fairly dull game. Annoying that Distin played well considering his comments. Edit: never said we should accept it because of the offside either, just said Sisu's claim was ridiculous considering
I saw it earlier and didn't see anything wrong with it, we were very lucky that it wasn't given. I suppose you could say that it's karma for our late minute winner getting chalked off earlier on in October. Either way we need to move on, every time gets their fair share of good and bad luck, it just makes it A LOT worse when it your bad luck comes in a big game like this. Unlucky Everton, you were robbed but lets move on, look forward to seeing you next season
Fair enough. Still think it was a foul based on the combination of the two (push and pull) and that's what I think was called. Either way, though, 0-0 was the final and now it's on to bigger and better things. Roll on LFC! Also, I do agree about sisu, he can be a bit exuberant.
A couple on here either showing that their football knowledge is zip, or that they're blinded by bitterness. LMAO @ some of the posts tbh. Anyway, an even contest & a draw was probably a fair result. Distin's goal was wrongly ruled out, but in fairness the ref had a good game overall & when he saw Reina fall he's assumed he's been fouled, so I can understand the wrong call tbf. It was an absorbing game, but not a classic by any means. I was disappointed by Mirallas who never turned up, which is a real shame as he's been great of late & Gibson had a mare by his standards, didn't look fully fit to me & was certainly not match sharp. Stevie 'Hollywood' Me la, put in his usual derby performance - shame it wasn't him who was retiring yesterday
For me, you need to blame Anichebe. First half he's all over Reina on the line. Everyone notices. The referee will have been told either by the players or through the fourth official. Second half he does the same thing to Enrique. The referee delays the corner to lecture him. He goes straight back to where he was, and still jostles, this time with Reina and Enrique, but to a lesser degree. Reina, an experienced professional, lets himself fall very easily, knowing he'll win the foul. Referee calls for the foul, as he was always going to. Then the ball goes in, which puts everything into the spotlight. Not saying it wasn't harsh, however. The only other thought on the game I have is that Fellaini could have had 3 red cards.
