The big difference between Jewell and McCarthy is that with Mick we don't get to have these endless games of "will he? Wont he?" going on for weeks and weeks! I am really looking forward to this summer transfer window and I am 100% confident that Mick and Terry will have already identified their targets and will be bringing them in without any fuss.
I really rate skuse, seems exactly the type of midfielder we need beside lukey who will notch 7/8 goals next season. Can't see doyle coming here due to wages.
Doyle is also not particularly prolific either. 11 goals this season,albeit in a pretty poor team but not that 20 plus a season man we need.
Ebanks-Blake has outscored him in half the amount of games.. Doyle is a hard worker and will chase, harry and menace defences but because of that he seems to have lost his intitial predatory instinct. Personally I think Nouble will do that role more effectively, with a better return and that there are better alternatives available i.e. Sam Baldock
I doubt that we will be able to get anyone that is already scoring 20 odd goals a season at this level or higher, so if Big Mick thinks he can get more from a player i'll go along with it....
