As our other thread has been hijacked and turned into a slanging match can we have a new thread for those of us who might just want to move on and think about the games ahead. The way the season has gone it ought to be a Watford v Brighton final - 3rd v 4th and probably recent form would go with that too - however we enter a new arena when the play offs begin. I am horribly afraid Leicester seem to be coming out of their slump - that will be atough match You would think with Palace's recent form that a Brighton win would be almost a formality - but in the play offs who knows? Hopefully visiting supporters who post here will be from the sides involved mostly or at least have the will to engage in friendly discussion Dan and Hornette - could you please use your moderating skills if we get wums here just trying to spoil things
Good thinking Leo, I will repeat my comment made a few minutes ago that Leicester have 2,000 tickets for travelling fans, and so far half of them have been sold.
I expect they will sell the rest soon - i'm not sure what Leicester's travelling support is like but would have thought they would easily do 2,000 How many tickets are available for Watford at Leicester?
No - my mistake OFH - read it too quickly and thought of their fans. Same applies - I think our 2000 will go fast. Wonder then how many tickets we have for them
Is there a different rule in the play-offs to normal? Only 2,000 in a ground that (according to the football ground guide website) holds 32,500 seems very few.
No away goals rule, but I don't think that helps us, could be a hindrance as we're good at scoring on the road.
Lloydinio, don't knoock the fact that there isn't an away goals rule - in 1989 there was, we drew 0-0 at Blackburn, they scored in the 1st minute at the Vic and then parked the bus - our keeper (I think it was Tony Coton) may as well have come off after they scored - we made it 1-1 but couldn't get the winner and lost on away goals.
Yes - I'm sorry Lloydy to have "stolen" your thread but it got too side tracked so let's keep this one as you intended for those of us involved in the play offs to actuall discuss them. Are you going to either of the games or are you studying at the moment?
It is rare for a side to win twice at another ground in one season - yes I know it does not happen that often but when it does you rarely get two away wins. Hope we can break that trend or at least get a draw.
Brighton are easily the form team coming into the play offs. Had Bolton made it they too would have been a form team. Over the final 8 games we got 11 points, Brighton 16, Leicester 9 and Palace 7. However Leicester beat Forest away, drew with Brighton away, drew with Palace away and beat Bolton at home - we are the only side to have beaten thenm in the last 6 games. I am sure Zola will be aware of this and there is no way we will be expecting a walk over just because we recently won there
We have fantastic away support and would easily have sold double what you have given us, probably why we have not allocated you more for the 1st leg at the KP. should be 2 cracking games and too close to call
I suspect that the allocation of seats is based on the standard allocation for a league match. As has been stated before both clubs have to move supporters for cup games or have supporters sharing facilities - with the very short time available it is just not practical to start moving supporters into other parts of the ground. So both clubs will be allocated the same seats as they did at the respective league games.
