Part IV. I wonder how many more sequels there'll be? it's never ending! We're like "Saw". - Always leave ourselves open for another one...
well that's put that one to bed. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2013/05/03/3950298/- "The Spurs boss has ruled out a move for the Zenit forward, saying that they cannot afford either the player's wages or a potential transfer fee the Russian club would command. Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas says that a move for Zenit St Petersburg striker Hulk will be "impossible" this summer. Spurs have been searching for a new striker for some time, having played this season with only two recognised first-team forwards. Villas-Boas worked with Hulk at Porto, but admits that the north London club simply cannot afford both the transfer fee Zenit would likely command, and the wages he is currently paid in Russia. "He was my player and scored 36 goals in one season but it's impossible he will make a move here because of the wages that he earns, which would break our balance," Villas-Boas told reporters. "He may have options in the summer but to a club like Tottenham his transfer fee is also impossible." Hulk 10 major trophies with Porto, including the Europa league and three league titles. But since joining Zenit in September 2012 for a reported fee of £27 million, the Brazil international has scored just four league goals. Spurs failed in a £16m deadline day bid for Hulk's Brazil team-mate Leandro Damiao in January, but Internacional president Giovanni Luigi revealed that his club has spoken with the Premier League side, and he is "very likely" to move to England."
Perhaps he'll end up at Chelsea if they fail to secure Falcao? There's talk of Higuain leaving Real (please get him Levy, please!! LOL), so if that's the case, wouldn't a likely destination for Falcao be the Bernabeu? EDIT: Re Higuain... maybe there's a possibility of us getting him if we use Bale as bate for next season? We tell them we want them to do us a favour and give us him now for "£x" and in return they get first refusal on bale in a years time, at mabe a slightly favourable price? After all, we do have a "partnership", don't we? It really excites me... I hope the partnership is as good as the one with Internacional. How on earth are Real looking to offload him http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gonzalo_Higuaín 104 goals in 185 games.
I assume you have your tongue firmly in your, cheek? There was no way we were ever going to afford him!..
what was scott sinclair thinking? He must have been on decent money at swansea. Is the income difference really worth sitting on the sidelines and rotting?
I figured we'd get him right after we picked up Messi and Ronaldo. I hope this doesn't mean the deals for them are off as well.
Him and Rodwell must be feeling like Steve Sidwell or Scott Parker during their time at Chelsea - but it's hard to have sympathy because surely they both knew City only wanted to sign them so other teams wouldn't have them instead of using them to improve the squad. I PM'd Moorphius the other day - he's not been online for about a week.
I'd like us to investigate Mohammed Salah and/or Dries Mertens over the Summer - additional RW cover for Lennon. Salah has, in 3 of the 4 games I've now seen him in, looked really good (the first leg of Chelsea he was pretty poor but Basel overall were pretty poor tbh). Our priorities for Summer have to be at least 1, if not 2 strikers, a new fullback, a creative mid and some additional wing cover - plus a clearout of the rubbish. There - it's easy - go to it Spurs
I would settle for a top class striker and a top class creative CM, these are the most urgent additions we require. We have Rose and Townsend to provide cover/competition at FB and the wing.
Who's playing up front for Rochdale these days? If Levy wants a striker with goals at a knockdown price, look no further! Recent ex-Rochdale strikers- Ricky Lambert, Grant Holt, Adam le Fondre and Glenn Murray.
