That's not good. Well, unless the club is sold, but I highly doubt it.

I just hope they can sort it out.

And they're spot on too about Williamson being offered that big contract which will take him into his 30's. Just give one to ****ing Barton and stop pissing about.

  2. Mike Williamson a 5 year contract, Pardew 5 year contract, Ranger a 5 year contract, no new contract for Barton?

    Complete ****!

**** you Ashley!! Get the **** out of the club!

Well if anything at least it looks like we have him for another season :) Silver lining? It might even give him a bit more determination in his performances.

When you think about it, this plan sort of forces Ashley and Llambias' hands. Joey has said he's going to stay next year, and he's said that he will not be sold, which he's entitled to refuse as he still has his contract.

If this is the case, then the board must offer Joey the contract, otherwise he WILL leave on a free. There's no other option. That would be the loss of a key player, and the loss of the initial £5.8million investment.

I really cannot see a way around it for the board.

He was either a lying twat and wanted the transfer, or he just didn't have the balls to stand up to the board.

If anyone does have the balls to do it, it's Joey. Even if the club accept an offer and want Joey to go, I really do not think he'll budge, even if it pisses off the entire board, because he knows the fans love him and want him to stay.

If this IS the plan set up by Joey and McKay, then refusing to be sold is an integral part of it and the only way to force Ashley's hand so he doesn't lose out big style. We're dealing with some right stubborn ****ers here, but Ashley is the only person who can really lose.

Exactly. It's like a game of chicken, except Joey has no reason to back out. I hope the money side of it will get to Ashley and he'll crumble.

There was a Wolves fan on Radio Newcastle's Total Sport some time ago who was something of a financial expert on things football related and clearly knew his stuff. He was confident that Ashley was just trying to put Newcastle on an even financial footing with a view to selling it. In his opinion this would happen before the end of the year.
