Is the Championship more exciting than the Prem, obviously the quality of players and the football is better in the top tier, and that's where us fans, (and the bean counters), want to be, but for excitement even for the neutrals, you can't beat the this league, can you?
After everything that happened on the final day it really is hard to say the prem is better. You just do not get the same competitiveness in the prem.
I've said for years that the Prem is over-rated, but got accused of it being just sour grapes. A cracking league that's just so unpredictable.
I love this league and not bothered about the Prem. one little bit biggest fear is dropping to league one that place really sucks
This season was ****, with bad football and low quality throughout. to claim it was exciting just because of the way scores went on the last day feels to me like running the 100m in a school parents race in 27 seconds, but the photo finish for second made it memorable
There is some good football played in this division by the better teams (thats not us though). It indisputably more interesting and, contrary to what Sheldon says, the interest has been there akll season. All season, half the teams are in imminent danger of relegation, the other half could all either win it or at least make the playoffs. Funny how we all(*) still want to get into the Prem though - my excuse is, if we go up it will become more competitive - look upon it as a sort of missionary work. Too many teams like QPR and Fulham and Southampton and Wigan at the moment, none of who will ever match the top teams. Oh and theres the little matter of getting the chanec to win at OT more often (*) excluding Mighty, of course......
I think the Premier League is over rated and "quality of football" has been deemed more important than the true source of excitement in the sport - the level of competition. While the quality of the football on display is important, you can only go so far before you have to ask yourself if ruining the sport is worth it just so a few neutrals can watch "pretty" football. At the end of the day, only the few very privileged clubs at the top of the tree are displaying "better" football than we were used to at the top 25 years ago. The rest get to watch the same quality of football, only now they don't have any opportunity of winning anything. Think it's all a scam and people have been brainwashed into thinking the Premier League is providing a better entertainment product than what was already available, which was real football that real supporters wanted to actually GO to their ground to see. In that respect, the Championship still offers that kind of real football, and is therefore more exciting.
In total agreement - less quality - , -less hype -, - less predictability - - more excitement - - proper fans - -real football -
Quite simply the best league in the world in terms of competitiveness when the bottom club can beat the top club on their day. The poncey prima donna Prem is an overrated league ruined by money!
I think the closeness of this season shows how the divide is getting far greater between the top 6 - 8 teams in the prem. the PL has become like a 3 tier league in itself, the championship full of equally matched teams
