Simple question..... who is the first name the Good Doctor puts on his teamsheet on a Thursday morning? AllHell Ooops missed off Jacko..... never mind...
I think its gotta be Solly... there is no way that Wilson comes close to stealing that Right-Back slot (unless of course the Left-Back gets injured) I also think that because Wilson's best position is playing in Midfield so that if he wants to bomb forward he's got Solly in support defensively and if Solly wants to bomb forward, Wilson can then drop back (almost how it was with Jacko and Wiggins when they played down the Left in the League One season)
Didnt notice Jacko not on there tbh... Glad he wasnt else that would have made my vote bloody difficult - How can the Captain not go on the teamsheet first? though also saying that I see that Jackson has been on the bench twice this season (Coming back after injury probably) but even when Solly has been out with a problem he's usually straight back into the eleven
Paul, I did say I missed him off by accident..... my bad By the way.... can you clear something up please? How do you spell the name of the South London Messi? The squad list has it down as Harriott BUT the big screen has it as Harriot when the team is read out prior to game? BBC have it as Harriots ...... dickheads!!
It appears it's wrong on the big screen, I've never noticed that but then again I don't operate it. I'll pass that on. It's Callum Harriott, that's what the young man has put on twitter.
That piece of footwork yesterday was straight off his missus' Zumba DVD but let's not forget that his fancy footwork led to his decisive goal against Brizzle at Ashton Gate. I voted for Solly, as I did in the POTY. He has got us out of countless bad situations this season and has looked sheer class throughout. Even when he was in trouble against Lee in the Bolton game, he assessed the situation quickly and snuffed him out. When you think that some on here were speculating at the start of the season whether JJ would even get in the starting lineup, he's had a great season - even when he's having a stinker, he doesn't hide, just gets stuck in and his goal return is extraordinary - that was his 37th goal for us in 109 games. As a midfield player that's brilliant, and I can think of a few strikers whose stats don't even come close to that.
Yann for me, solly is a great player and will only get better, BUT no one ever won anything because they had the best full back.
No surprise to see Solly winning this as I think he is your best player, but aren't you worried about keeping him as isn't he out of contract in summer?
I think I was the most persistent libeller. I never doubted his ability. He is one of our few with top tier experience and class. But I never believed his fitness would stand up and thought CP should not rely on him when envisaging his regular XI, just as back-up or sub. I am delighted for his sake and ours that I was completely wrong. CP did rely on him. Without his goals we might have gone down. And unless we sign someone new we will be relying on him next season too, which is somewhat worrying as in games where our opponents zip the ball about quickly (Nottingham Forest for example) he gets completely by-passed. The other problem is that when you have players like Jackson, Hughes, Fuller and Haynes in the side, you need to have potential replacements held back on the bench in case they suffer a breakdown, and this limits your options for making tactical substitutions. Nonetheless, he has been a real hero this season, and if Solly or Yann don't get POTY then I would not mind Jackson winning. ...................................... First name on the teamsheet is obviously Solly because he has no real competition for the position and not necessarily because he is our best or most effective player (though he may be those as well). But whatever formation CP wants to play, he will always find a place for Wiggins, Morrison and Kermit somewhere, so they are equally automatic picks if fit.
No M8.... he's not out of contract, if we don't sell him to West Ham for £3m to £4m then we will get him to sign an extension to his present contact.
