Blowing two points that just might have made survival plausible.

Looks like the final nails are in the coffins for QPR and Reading and with them playing each other next week they could relegate each other with a draw obviously, all the talk is about how it could come down to the final day to decide the 3rd club with Wigan vs Villa and it looks like being the case

After today's result I think Wigan are doomed, even when villa get beat on Monday I still fancy them to have the firepower to pull them through!

yepp look like it will be either Wigan or AV who will accompany reading and QPR into championship

  6. QPR and Reading are as good as down. Newcastle, Sunderland and Stoke are too far ahead. Last spot is between Villa and Wigan IMO <ok>

I dunno tbh - many of the top teams have been pretty weak this year but the relegation battle has been stronger than ever. The proverbial 40 points may actually be needed to reach safety this year.

Certainly shows that all the chat about the weak PL is misplaced - it's a heck of a lot stronger this year than 09/10, for example, when 31 points would have been enough for safety <yikes>

waw 2 teams who desperately need a win, yet they finish their match 0-0.. they both deserve to go down tbh

Villa vs Sunderland tonight, a Villa win and the Toon should be worried but I think they will be fine just. Sunderland win and they are safe no question

Don't speak too soon - after this weekend's performance I can definitely see them making 40 points, which will put Sunderland, Newcastle and Norwich under some pressure.

We are going mate. CH is the most negative and clueless manager we have had since Roeder.

Wigan are gone if they don't beat Swansea imo, Sunderland with 2 homes games in a row should get a win at least, its tough to call at the moment though.

Maybe Pardew will help you. He's as clueless as ever, add to that, all the French speakers, that he probably cannot communicate well with, and the lack of flukey goals this season.

I think they will beat QPR. They seem to be a given for any team.
