could be anyone. Norwich have got Man city last so they are in trouble if they dont win their next game. We would go into the last day with any number of teams going down but I think wigan villa will be key. Whats your pick? Hope - Norwich Think - Wigan
In terms of next season, I would prefer Wigan or Norwich to come back down with us. Newcastle going down with make the automatic spots hard to obtain. Just my own personal opinion.
Just want it to go to whichever team would be weakest in the NPC. So not Newcastle. Would be delighted if Norwich of Fulham stumble into it, but reckon Wigan must at least win 2 and draw 1 - unlikely, but possible.
I think it will be Wigan, hope its them, Norwich, Stoke or Villa. Remember saying we'd need at least 40 points to be safe, it's still possible a team with 40 points will go down. Many including Harry said, 37 or 38 would be enough, but that looks unlikely now.
I did the predictor and had it coming down to the Villa Wigan game, Villa lose and they go down and wigan go down if they dont win. A couple of surprise wins and it could be stoke, saints or norwich. anyone apart from newcastle will be good for us.
Sunderland for me. New manager effect over and they're back to their usual **** self. Wigan to follow up the strong win today and win their game in hand against a finished Swansea this midweek, and ultimately win their last game of the season at home against an already safe Aston Villa. But if Sunderland was to win against Stoke in their next game (I have it down as a draw), then it will be Norwich to go down. Could be Newcastle if they do worse than a draw against us but it would come down to goal difference if so. 13. Wigan--------41 pts 14. Aston Villa----41 pts 15. Fulham-------40 pts 16. Newcastle----40 pts 17. Norwich------39 pts 18. Sunderland---38 pts 19. Reading------28 pts 20. QPR----------26 pts So there you have it (did the BBC predictor for the first time this season)
I would be very nervous if I was a Norwich fan. WBA and City. I suspect it will be WIgan but someone will have to pick Col off the floor if it is Norwich. Frankly, I am more worried about our future than who joins us (though I accept the above arguments that the 3rd spot impacts on our ability to take a top spot) since, the more I think about our situation, the mire (typo but left it as seems appropriate!) I think Harry's statements are not rhetoric to open wallets. I'm afraid it is a few seasons in the NPC to see if we can rebuild properly.
I predicted Norwich a few weeks ago and nothing I've seen to date makes think differently. Fulham should be thankful they've made the 40 point mark as they won't pick up any more. It's Norwich on 39 to go down. party time for Col!...
I wasn't comfortable after the West Brom defeat in December that ended the 10-match unbeaten run. Just saw shades of 1995. Now must beat them at home next Sunday to stand a realistic chance of staying up.
Our form loss goes back to the Ruddy injury. He would have saved the second Villa goal yesterday.I think with him between the sticks we would now be on about 44 points and safe.At least it's an exciting end to the season with half the division potentially involved. On the positive side most of us would have taken our current position at the start of the season.Good luck next year - unless it's against us!
Unlike Col I've no axe to grind with Norwich. Just a shame to see them in freefall after such a decent start and, sadly, I don't think you have the experience for this situation. Sunderland with two home games are more likely to get the points and Newcastle will probably be more motivated than us next week. If you did beat West Brom anyone up to Stoke in 11th could be going down. Squeaky bum time indeed...
