I said Wigan would stop up, now it will be between us and the mags who go down!, we need to win both home games.

Villa now looking safe in one week of footy. CAre they safe enough to take it easy against Wigan. We have 2 home games to make us safe. if we cannot do it then we do not deserve it.

I wouldn't be too sure Monty. Norwich are right in the clarts now, with WBA at home and Man City away as their last two games of the season. I can't see them getting any more than the 38 points that they currently have.

I despair, i really do! within 5 days i have gone from being relatively calm to ****ting my pants! ****ing hate supporting Sunderland me! Oh well......2 months ago i was sure we were going down, but to have my hopes built up with the thought of safety then potentially dashed????? Devastated!!!!

Table looks pretty awful tonight but this is still all in our hands. We HAVE to beat Stoke and we will be safe. 40 points will put us 5 points ahead of Wigan who have 9 to play for which means they will have to beat Swansea and Villa as they will not beat Arsenal going for the Champions League imo.

If we only draw or god forbid lose, then I will have a squeaky arse till the end of the season.

    15 Norwich 36 -22 38
    16 Newcastle 36 -23 38
    17 Sunderland 35 -12 37
    18 Wigan 35 -22 35
    19 Reading 36 -26 28
    20 QPR 35 -27 25

I'm going to put my head on the chopping block and say that we only need 1 more point to be safe. That is enough to finish above Norwich who have a much worse goal difference and are unlikely to get any points out of WBA and Man City ;)

Who wishes that we were playing now! Gonna be really nervous over the next few days! Which makes me ask! Shouldnt all games at this stage of the season be played at the same time???? Wish they were, we would know alot more where we stand right now! like i say......wish we could play the stoke game this instant!!!!

Funny enough, me and my pals were saying this before this weekend and its even more relevant as we sit 4th bottom tonight. I thought we would get maybe 1 or 2 points at best and if we had, then we would be sitting 3rd bottom and 1 point behind Wigan now.

    Bloody scary thought or what?

Scarier still is, that if MON who we both thought was going to do it here, had still be in charge that is quite likely how it would have played out.

I've had a quick look on the Nags board and the Norwich board to see if they're as twitchy as us.

    They are.

Aye, its not a nice thought mate but sadly very true. Looking back in hindsight, maybe we left it too late and we are destined for the drop now. If we don't beat Stoke I don't fancy our chances for survival.

Its now down to us, the Nags and Norwich and the Canaries have a hard couple of games to come. We have 2 games at home to mid table teams that are not that good but then again we just got stuffed off a very average Villa team a week ago as well.

It is changing by the day and by next Tuesday night, after Wigan have played Swansea, we will be much more aware of our true plight.
