It is a ****ehole right enough. Had to go their on business once or twice. Couldn't wait to get out of the dump.
Love all the Scotch posters who were defending their motherland on the other threads now laying into how much of a ****hole their cities are.
I do that all the time. Belfast is an absolute ****hole but as soon as a Brit starts to deride it I've an unreasonable urge to defend it. Actually if I was to pick two places in the British Isles I'd be happy to live in for a few years it would be a decent part of London (I quite like the Camden area, I was going to live there before accepting a job in Guernsey) or central Dublin. Unfortunately while the facilities and lifestyles are great in both cities you need to earn a super wage to afford them.
Have to admit I wasn't that impressed with Dublin. Too touristy and a ****ing rip-off. Mind you, people probably say that about Edinburgh.
In defence of the places that aren't London and Dublin, there are some great cities/towns which aren't full of inwards looking EDL supporting ****s, places like York, Worcester, Newcastle, Harrogate and most cities on the South Coast are really nice from my experience and the people I've encountered there have all seemed pretty friendly, certainly a lot friendlier than the twats who inhabit London who aren't just inward looking, but self-obsessed.
Stingey sweaty. You get ripped off in the tourist traps of Dublin aye but go a little bit off the beaten track and it's alright. Some cracking pubs and very very good restaurants with a much friendlier backdrop than most UK cities. I'd still rather live in the Mediterranean again though.
I forgot to mention that it's full of Irish which is a real sickener. No one warned me. The Irish are like weegies. They think everyone loves them but they're just annoying ****s full o' pish!
Scotch is also an adjective meaning 'of or pertaining to Scotland', which is often used in a pejorative sense. Happy to be of assistance. And no, I'm not autistic. Why do you ask?
