To be fair it was pretty biased in many areas. But I do believe his quote is still positive in some aspects of todays racing whether or not some young drivers take it too seriously.
A legend who for sure would have taken the fight to the young and improving Msc in the Benetton.

The film was also badly edited and sound dubbed. I would have liked to have seen some more bits about what Senna was like in 86/87, though they skipped over this quickly.

From a neutral view, I don't doubt it was a good watch, but from a purist side of things it left me feeling a bit underwhelmed.

This is how I felt about it too: maybe it was a directorial decision to pace the film like a race but, for me, it just rushed through many things I'd like to have seen examined more and so I felt underwhelmed too. Also, it was billed as being a film for non-F1 fans too but the breakneck pace of the thing meant that my friend was repeatedly asking me what was going on.

I did enjoy it though, it was moving and a great nostalgia trip, albeit one in too much of a hurry.

I reckon they missed the early 90's out big time.

Incidentally, I didn't have a problem with the lack of objectivity. Film makers have a point of view and I think it was expressed honestly; I think it's extremely rare to find any film, or TV for that matter, which is genuinely objective although there's an awful lot which would dishonestly have us believe it is unbiased: making films is fundamentally about manipulation of mind and emotion.

    Praise from Hembery and Salo:

    -------------

Also Force India want Razia as their reserve driver and for him to do some Friday practice sessions this year but unsurprisingly they're asking for money.

In slightly less controversial news, BMW have restored Nelson Piquet's 1983 WDC winning Brabham-BMW and are asking him to drive it at Goodwood.

1300bhp, massive turbo lag, a hill and tight corners. What could go wrong!

Still nice to see a manufacturer appreciating their motorsport heritage and taking the time/money to do such a thing.

Love the obligatory mention on the Di Resta article of this...

They are just asking for people to take the piss by keeping this up!

Anybody watching MOTOGP Quali, what the hell is going on? Nearly all the drivers are spinning out.

No idea, but have you seen how some of them are sliding the back into the final hairpin!?

edit: not just that corner, never seen them kicking out the back so much to get the bikes to turn in.

Yeah I don't know if Jerez gets much tyre rubber > grip through the year anyway, accept from testing and motogp. But even the doctor lost it.
