Agree with that sentiment Pouchy. <ok> although we don't want headless chickens charging about and getting sent off either. that pride and passion together with some decent tactics and a strong formation will make the difference. We've not had any of that. Can they pull it off today?

But then you'll want to watch them again and that would scupper our Champions League final hopes.

    What a dilemma!

Well, according to Pardew 'defensively we have been pretty strong. We have to take that into today'...

That'll be the defence that has shipped 9 in the last two home games and have the worst goals against record in the league. Well Pards has me convinced...

Getting nervous already. Starting to feel really quite sick now.

Being a Toon fan is not good for my health or sanity.

Morning LTF. <ok> how are you?

I am so nervous. Good job the kids are out if the house today as this could get very messy - especially the language. I fear fir the TV which might get smashed with a flying remote control.

Whilst I hope we show pride and passion today I think we should be very measured in our approach for the first 25-30 mins then start to show more attacking intent by playing rush keeper until we get a couple of goals in front. I appreciate this tactic will leave us slightly exposed to a 85 header from Carroll, however the odds are slim he'd hit the target twice from that range.

I can see us winning 3-1 with goals from Elliot and Harper (I think Pardew will give them 45 mins each as they have different attacking qualities ) plus a headed Taylor goal from a Cabaye corner.

“Set-pieces have been a problem for us this year."

    No **** Sherlock!

Good job Pards has realised this early enough in the season to do something about it. <doh>

That's just plain ridiculous Jimiley. We all know Taylor can't head a ball.

Well, Lee Ryder provides a moment of gentle amusement - when discussing the two sides it's West Ham he describes as abject. He also reads slightly contemptuous of West Hams long ball style before admitting in the next paragraph that it is in fact us who play more long balls than any other side.

    It's all fun stuff.

<laugh> I've no doubt it was said somewhere Tasty Magpie, but I'm wary of biased editing and manipulative journalists, Pardew has lost the plot though.

    I'm well thanks Obi, <ok>
Not sure how well I'll be this evening, <badger>

Ah.....this where my tactical genius comes into play. I didn't mean a direct header, Taylor will accidently get his fat in the way of a Collins clearance and the ball will fly in at a great rate of knots past a startled keeper and a more than disgruntled Allardyce. I've already said to Pardew that I don't want any praise for our 3-1 victory in his post match interview but would accept a donation to the 'not606 escaped relegation party' beer fund.

Not nearly enough Jonas' to be Pardew's actual selection.

I'm torn today guys, watch us get pumped by West Ham, or watch my beloved Djurgardens get pumped by Atvidasberg... Djurgardens are currently bottom with a horrendous goal difference and 1 point to their name, but you know what, they've still shown more guts than our hapless heroes.
