If Wigan stay up, I think they will start having Spanish Bank Holidays in honour of Martinez. I think the task is too big this time. However, looking at St Brendy's and others posts above, just remember that they had a tough ask last season and in the space of a week, beat high flying Newcastle and Man Utd at home, followed by ...... Arsenal away

someone said once, "It's a funny old game"

True FLT but they didn't have the gap they have this time and the distraction of a cup final.

OK so I'm hoping for a Norwich draw and a Baggies win today.

If West Brom play as they did last week can't see Wigan getting anything but you never know in this league!

Ordinarily I wouldn't agree with two sides below us both picking up something at this stage of the season. However, as Villa and Norwich still have Chelsea and Man City respectively to come in their final two games, a draw in today's game would be no bad thing. Basically puts them both into a one-game shoot-out situation, if they're to finish above us. Lose to Wigan (Villa) or WBA (Norwich), and you (almost certainly) aint finishing above us.

A WBA win today is clearly a given (although if I'm being greedy, in terms of looking not just at survival but forward to our 19 opponents next season, then a Wigan draw would be no bad thing so long as Newcastle lose at Upton Park. Newcastle getting relegated would be massive for us - and Wigan staying up would be no bad thing either).

41 points required isn't really a strong possibility is it? For that to happen Wigan would need nine.If our game with Villa was drawn they would need to draw with Chelsea and win at Wigan, which in turn would mean Wigan needing to win at WBA and Arsenal. That leaves the two NE clubs needing four points apiece.

It's starting to scramble my brain all the possibilities, although it's getting simpler every week. All I know is that if Wigan lose today it's pretty much done.

Given that everyone - fans, media, pundits, bookies etc - has totally ignored them (for valid reasons, I should add), I would chuckle if Fulham ended up going down.

I can see them losing their final two games, so will remain on 40. Now that really should be enough, but you never know.

David McNally and Chris Hughton have cancelled Norwich City's end of season dinner for Monday night.

Says team have to focus and this is not in their best interests. All people will be refunded in full and given priority for the re-arranged date, if they can attend.

Should Sunderland and Wigan win over the next three days, they'll be eight of us seperated by just two points, with two games left for everyone - and on the GD side of things, the eight of us will roughly be split into two groups of four.

We however would be the only one of those eight without Arsenal/Man City/Chelsea/Spurs/Liverpool as one of our remaining two games.
