I was not having a bet in the guineas as I cannot oppose either of the top two with each other but I have decided to have an each-way on Moohajim simply because 25-1 is just too big.

    Morning all.
    Lucky 15 today,
    2-05,Newmarket=Benzanno.
    2-20,Goodwood=Khione.
    3-10,Newmarket=Noble Mission.
    3-50,Newmarket=Dawn Approach.
I'll nap Noble Mission, he's in the last chance saloon as far as i'm concerned.
    Good luck to all.

    Hi All

Not really a fan of the flat but I generally take notice of the top races and am very much interested by todays 2000 Guineas. Jim Bolger reckons Dawn Approach is better than New Approach and Richard Hughes reckons Toronado could be better than Canford Cliffs. Well if there both right we'll surely be heralding two potential superstars after today and the rest should be well behind the pair. I happen to have had a big soft spot for New Approach, and generally find Jim Bolger's English raids reaps rewards. In fact without having the figures to hand it seems most of his fancied (and even less fancied) runners come back with the big money and it seems there'll be a few long faces on the forum today should Dawn Approach not make up for his sire's painstaking defeat in the 2008 Guineas. Jim Bolger doesn't unduly hype them up and hopefully his confidence will be repaid today. I expect Dawn Approach will be winning, possibly in workmanlike fashion, as is his norm, and 2-1 seems a reasonable price. In fact as stated above it looks like a forecast between the top 2 in the market should reap rewards.

Good luck and come on Dawn Approach!

    Here's my Saturday double:

    2.55 Goodwood - I'm So Glad E/W 14-1
    4.35 Thirsk - Trailblaze E/W 12-1

I might have a small flutter E/W on Proud Chieftan 2.05 @ Newmarket at 22-1.

My enthusiasm for the race has dampened significantly as one of our mares had to be taken to hospital in the middle of the night and had to be operated on.

With more money likely to come for Toronado, I'll be surprised if Dawn Approach isn't available at 2/1 on the course for a few minutes before shortening again as everyone piles in for the value bet.

Does anyone know the relative Timeform ratings for these two?

If I had to back one at present it would probably be Toronado but, being a massive New Approach fan, I'll be shouting for DA.

Isn't it just - dropping like flies at Watford. Think Hull are going to win.

Sorry to hear about your mare Ron - hope she pulls through.

2 for me toady. Spirit Quartz in the 2.35 and Mars e-w in the Guineas.

As it stands at the bottom Barnsley and Huddersfield are in a direct play-off for the 3rd relegation spot. Must be amazingly tense at that one <yikes>
