We all thought it was Cortese, but, although NC obviously wouldn't want a blabbermouth, it is now clear that secrecy was really Nige's way.
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/10398292.Shaw_fit_for_Spurs/ We would never have heard that from Nigel.
Pochettino says Southampton would never sell Gareth Bale now: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11700/8687439/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
I'm not sure if its good or bad. Obviously us fans want to know who's playing but do you think NA's cloak of secrecy gave us a psycholigical advantage over opponents?
Not really. There may be occasions when a manager might have to think again if we did or didn't play a certain player, but all the players in the PL should be good enough to adapt to changes. May work in the lower leagues if you play lesser teams, but not so likely to have an effect in the PL.
We should prove this point by buying back our ex-Academy players! Seriously though, I still think a lot more needs to be done to protect clubs from having their academy problems nicked by big clubs, if Dyer, Walcott, Bale and AOC were still at the club we would look like European contenders straight away!
I don't think we have too much to complain about. Dyer wasn't playing here and we were outside the Premier League when we sold the others to borderline Champions League teams for pretty big money.
On the other hand, if we had kept them all we'd have gone out of business and they'd all be playing for other clubs by now anyway.
On the other end of the scale from "an Argentinian with big plans" is an Englishman who doesn't seem to be able to tell his arse from his elbow right now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22399438 - there's managing expectations and then there's this. He seems to have been undermining his own team for weeks now but this is just incredible.
I'm sure if "finished just outside the playoffs" rhymed with "thrived" they would have said that instead.
Don't agree with him. QPR had enough players with talent to have made a better fist of it, but they lacked either the hunger or organisation. Players, however good, don't make a team. You have to get the right combination and have a man with a plan. QPR lacked both.
He lives in a hotel ? I KNOW I saw an interview with him on Saints player ( pre- reading when asked if he would thank nA for the team he inherited ) where he said that he would thank everyone for making him and his family welcome . Would suggest the " Lives in a hotel " is sensationalism !
