I've watched that video a few times now, the defending is simply shocking, schoolboy stuff.

Watch the 5th goal. on about back away and let the kid pick a spot.. **** me.

Skuse on the 2nd is also so half hearted.. I agree we need a restart.. these players do not show the desire needed to grind results out, weak underbelly..and it spreads through the team.

Heres some other "prolific midfielders" if you take top teams in the world.
Javier Mascherano 80 games for Barcelona and 0 goals.
Sergio Busquets 143 games and 4 goals.
Xabi Alonso 129 games and 4 goals.
Michael Essien 17 games and 1 goal.

Clearly all 4 of those players must be crap and couldnt get in our team as they havent scored many goals. Oh wait football is about attacking and defending and they are defensive players so dont get forward that much. <steam>

Even Liam Kelly has played 18 games without a goal

Skuse is a defensive midfielder? Next time he's on the pitch better tell him that then!!

I wonder if alonso and all the other players you have listed have 0 assists aswell?

It's certainly caught up with Kilkenny and Anderson. Kelly isn't much better but I hold out a glimmer of hope he might make it in L1.

I agree we need a new start, but Skuse is the best of the bunch we have - I dread to think what will happen with the dross that's left.
SOD will need to bring in a few 'pearls' of his own.

Hey i might think Skuse is one of our best midfielders but i think that is why we are so poor.

I think its best for us and him if we part. There are plenty of other championship clubs that want him so he can move forwards but we need to rebuild so i would love to see young energenic players like Reid given game time

Whilst bored and depressed watching one of our home games, I decided to watch Skuse for about 15 mins. Now don't get me wrong
he is industrious and a Bristolian but that 15 mins consisted, mainly, of sideways and backward passes plus a nosebleed when left
with a gap in front that he could run into and maybe get a shot on target. Yes he suffers from not having a creative midfield player
alongside him, but I have always thought, from when he first came into the team, that he was too lightweight for a defensive
midfielder and my opinion hasn't changed. A move away would do both him and us good.

Watched it and to be honest he got done by a fraction of speed, but what the **** was Carey doing trying to head the ball when it was on the ground.

Skuse probably is our best midfielder at the club, but that shows how poor our midfield actually is.

I like Kelly because I think IMO he will get better, and to pull him up for a mistake against Bolton is just getting petty, everyone makes mistakes and we need to remember we are Bristol City now of the third division, so for us to have a perfect midfielder would mean he's either on loan to us or we will sell him for a minimal fee.

You highlight that statistic for Skuse however with the exception of a couple of talented individuals who were here briefly, it is pretty much a sumary of our entire midfield's performance since season 2008/09, i.e. no midfield and (at best) a league One defence. As I have said before, without Nicky Maynard, we would have been down a few years ago..

As for Skuse leaving for the money, what a daft comment...

Of course its for money. He has about 6/7 years left before he becomes UNEMPLOYED so, whilst he may well have another string or 2 to his bow, his main source of generating income will be over....

He is in demand by Championship managers who see more value in him than us amateurs on this board and are therefore prepared to pay him a decent salary to get his services so, the decision is does he secure the future for his family or, take a massive pay cut and play in a lower division out of loyalty to his home town club.

Kudos to Cole if he does stay but I think I know what each and every person on this board would do so it is hypocritical to the extreme for anyone to suggest otherwise....
