meh, he would have to be MUCH cheaper than we sold him for and he would have accept being behind Pablo, Dyer and Routs in the pecking order. He was shown up in our first prem season despite looking fantastic in the championsip. Ambivalent about this really.
Maybe now flenin hanegan has dumped him he has realised he preferred being a regular starter here rather than a bench warmer in Manchester (that's when he actually made the bench).
He's another Dorus, he made the wrong choice (and frankly it was an obviously bad choice). I'd rather see someone of better quality on a lower wage - ML over to you...

Think his ex played a big part in his departure - now he's single who knows. I think he is the kind of player who would become much improved under Laudrups guidance. I certainly have no hard feelings toward him but think if he was to come back maybe it would be in a more central role rather than on the wing.

I would have him back no problem, 4 decent wingers and maybe Laudrup could develop him further as a player, many people including myself thought Scott could have done really well under Laudrup, the movement in our "3 winger system" would have been ideal for scotty cutting infield and it would have given him the freedom that he didn't have under a slightly more ridged Rodgers system.

Scott struggled a little bit when up against quality defenders but I believe in our new system he would get more freedom. His long range shooting is very good too which is something Natthen and Routs really lack.

If the price is right and the wages are right then why not ?

Personally I think if he leaves Man city then Liverpool would be his preferred choice, he Is still pumping that Helen bird and unless he wants to get away from her I expect him to stay in the North East.

Cant fault him for taking the big bucks on offer at Man city, silly move in one way but totally correct from a professional point of view :)

I base my judgement on his last season with us, where he disappeared in games, became very predictable for defenders to handle, and where Rogers would hardly ever drop his golden boy, so I hope that Rodgers comes in for him, though saying that, he edges it for me over Hernandez, who has disappointed along with De Guzman, so no, I hope we don't go in for him, though clearly he's realised he made a massive mistake, and money is not everything, so well done on that in fairness to him, and while it's reported that she's dumped him, if the truth be known, he's been trying to gently shake her off for the last 6 months or so!............<cheers>

I got no problem with Scott coming back, if he really does want to break up with Helen then Swansea is probably the best place for him isn't it? unless of course she feels she can get a part in the TV production of Da Vinci's Demons...not sure if she would play the part of a Roman mistress or an actual Demon though...<laugh>

You could be right there Norway regarding him having freedom due to the flexibility of the wingers under Laudrup. He was stale under Brenda where he just hugged the touchline, tried a trick and lost the ball all too often.

I disagree though that the move was a professionally correct one. rather than chase the big bucks he needed regular game time which he was only getting here to improve his game during the last of his formative development years. If he had done so and upped his game to Premiership standard then he could have angled for a big bucks move where he would be signed as first choice and maybe even broken into the england set up. As it stands he has wasted another season and has probably learned very little about the league given that he rarely even makes the bench. His development has stalled (again) and I fear he won't improve unless he get's regular football for a few solid seasons.
I don't rate him higher than our other wingers (Dyer has improved by staying put, Routs has improved by getting regular football after being a journeyman like Scott - except that he was more naturally talented to start with, Pablo has lacked consistency but prior to his injury a few months back he was looking fantastic).
4th choice for me and probably stuck on the bench again so I think he needs to go back to Championship and start again.
Controversial perhaps? But that's what I think.

He seems to split opinions more than most.
I got the impression that he left Swansea to follow the woman he loved. He isn't the first male to do that.
He had that fantastic season in The Championship, and anything less the following season was always going to damage his reputation, and so it turned out.
If there's a chance that he wants to return, then,if the price/wages are right, why not.

I agree with steve on Sinclair, but I don't think he needs to go back to the Championship, he just needs to get a few Premier league seasons under his belt with the right manager, shame he's lost a season of development at this level, but it was his choice, and he's had just 3 appearances this season, due to that poor decision, which is not good. I hope Rodgers goes for him, though I think the Kop wont like another X Swansea player, so not sure where this will go, but who else will look at him? Norwich? Southampton? I hope we don't!....................<ok>

I think Brendens loyalty actually worked against him a little bit, we all resented the fact that routledge would be benched despite playing a great game for us with scotty just slipping bak in irrelevant if he was off form or not.
Rodgers may have felt he was duty bound to show loyalty to scott but most of us fans thought there were times when it would have benifitted Sinclair to have some bench time.

Maybe has career has stopped but I still believe that to turn down Man city and everything that goes with it would have been extremely hard for a lot of professionals. Scott took a cut in money to come to us so I don't believe he is the mercenary that some make out,he has had a year on mega bucks with a nice signing on fee so his bank balance is healthy and he can get back to regular football once again.

I also believe that while he hasn't played a lot of first team games he is bound to have improved playing with better players in training. There would have been a lot for him to watch and learn from so it could be a good thing in one way.

Overall you would have to say it didn't work out the way he intended but he is still young enough to improve.

Steve makes some good points but I believe with the right system and a fair competitive chance he can still show himself to be a top talent in the prem league :)

Cartoonhead raises an interesting point. I'd happily take him back on loan but I fear his wages would be too high unless Man City are willing to help out (which they have done before - Bellamy for instance)
