its better that people talk about another sport on a thread than not talk at all, after all this is a forum to communicate, if i get to the level of posting on a **** thread i will call it a day, but talking about cricket isn't crime of the century, just fellow footie fans talking about another sport.

besides, isn't you moaning about a thread derailing just as much derailing the thread as what we are effectively doing.

Competition Mounts for Reds Target Ogbonna

Liverpool are being linked with a move for Torino defender Angelo Ogbonna this summer but the Anfield side will face stiff opposition for the 24-year-old who is expected to leave the Serie A side at the end of the season.

We reported last October that Liverpool had sent scouts to watch Ogbonna in action and TalkSport reports http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...-competition-torino-star-196718#ixzz2S50KAq2U that the Reds have subsequently watched him on a number of occasions.

Manchester United were linked with Ogbonna at around the same time that Liverpool’s interest was first reported but he suffered a two-month injury lay-off which coincided with the January transfer window and that meant speculation to his future was put on hold much to the relief of Torino president Urbane Cairo who at the time was strongly opposed to a sale.

However, Ogbonna is also being linked with Arsenal along with Serie A giants Juventus and AC Milan while his transfer value is being talked about in the region of 15-18million euro (£12-15million). That might be enough to see off Liverpool’s interest given that other targets such as Swansea’s Ashley Williams are valued at just £8million. Williams, however, is almost six years older than Ogbonna.

The latest side to be linked with the Italy international are Bayern Munich with Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport claiming the Champions League finalists have also watched Ogbonna in action this season.

With such competition Liverpool will do well to secure Ogbonna’s signature

 

I'd be very happy if we got Ogbonna but, like the article suggest, I suspect he will be interesting a few clubs

 

I agree will be tough to get him, but would be a great move if we can pull it off

 

Strong but also quick. As a left footer, he normally plays LCB and (I may be wrong here) can also play LB if required.

 

I know this has already been out but.....

Either slip of the mind he didn;t name Borini or Borini is so shocking he doesn't rate him enough to put him in there?
