Heard some ****ing ****er saying that one of the stands at either Ibrox or Parkhead is to remain shut next season due to dwindling crowds Being a logical bloke, I've discounted that it could be Celtic due to the facts that they have 9 million fans, the SPL is booming, they are all Neil Lennon, they will win the SPL, they have CL football, they have the Greatest Fans In The World who are faithful through and through and the season books have had £100 slashed from them. So, why are Rangers closing one of the stands? Is it due to playing more diddy teams again?
I'm guessing they still sell **** loads of season tickets? They might not go but they still have seats
A lot of ST holders at Parkhead are being re-located - mostly those in the LL and section 401 and its surroundings. Most of the LL stand is looking like it's going to be where all the day ticket types will be. I've still got my seat but a lot of folk are kicking **** up about it.
No wonder. FFS, I'm beeling as I tried to buy tickets for the legends game on Monday for my usual seat only to be told that the CD is closed!! 22 ****ing years I've been up there!!
I'm row T in the bottom tier - before Strachan shortened the pitch, I used to be right in line with the goal line - had my seat since the stand was built. Brilliant seat. I'd be beeling if I was asked to move - basically, they can only get folk to move by saying the tickets are reduced (and, if you get moved from LL upper to NS upper, you're getting a better view, I reckon) - some are reduced by more than others. Mine is only £89 cheaper than this season (rather than the reported £100) although I heard that might be because the VAT has gone up - I never noticed. Neither team is likely to ever close a stand but you'll probably find that, at low key games, the LL upper will be pretty empty next season but it won't be shut.
For the legends game, that's not so bad. If they closed it for a regular season game and you got moved into a (presumably cheaper than the CD) seat, then I'd be looking for money back aff them. I resisted getting a season ticket until we had to - the notion that you basically give your club your season's money up front still doesn't sit right with me. If your club aren't doing enough for you, you should be able to withdraw your custom, not just leave an empty seat that you've already paid for
To be honest, I only go now because the wean wants to go. Too old now for football and its un/sensibilities. The wean on the other hand is football daft just now, he even got his Taigy maw to take him to Waterstones last night to get Lee McCulloch's signed autobiography, while I fixed the boiler.
