It doesn't usually take too long, but allow a bit extra this week. Say 15-20 minutes.

Cheers. Shame it's an early kickoff as will have to go for 1 less pint to make time for ticket collection.

And of course, Bernard Mensah, academy player extraordinaire! Signed a 5 year contract at the end of last year.

    Very well said Goldentrue :)

So when all said and done you have had only 13 loan players this season, 7 of which play regularly leaving 4 actual Watford players on the pitch and a mix on the bench !, I agree with the fact that it's a loophole that has been exploited to the max, but at the same time it does say something about the state of football when your allowed to do this.

Oh - why do people keep making these pointless posts - try reading a bit about the subject before you comment and you wont make stupid remarks like "it's a loophole" when it is actually a deliberate policy on the part of the FL. The total cost of those loan players would have been less than £10m -if our owners had taken over a month earlier they would have been set up as transfers and stupid comments like Hollowhead's and the rest would never have been made

strachallister----it is not a "loophole" --it is the actual rule. We observed every rule. If you escaped a speeding fine by driving at 20 mph in a 30 mph zone, would you be "exploiting a loophole?"

absolute nonsense again.. does no one pick up on the fact that had the 'rules' been different then many of those players were just have likely to have been signed as loaned.... so we would have ended up with the same players! No advantage has been gained, they were signed how the owners saw best within the rules of the game that existed at the time.

7 players in a first team that are loaners is a joke legal or not !! It speaks volumes about the state of your first team at the beggining of the season does it not....

Is there any need? Dull Hull? Really? How old are you?

We can't score in a brothel? Watford have failed to score in almost as many games as us this season.

Just for the record, Cardiff have scored 10 or 11 goals more than us over 45 games so far. We've hardly been blown away on the scoring front. Granted, we've not scored as many as our play has deserved, but having our best striker out for the whole season doesn't help.

This season has thrown up so many "surprise" results that I've given up trying to predict who will be promoted come Saturday afternoon.

You will forgive me if I don't wish you luck on Saturday <ok>

All fair comments. We don't being called Udinese B and Watfraud so Dull Hull's not great either.
I'm dreading tomorrow - 2 teams playing in Cup finals but one team knows it's all in their hands. I just hope that if you prevail you do so as painlessly for us as possible as it might make it slightly easier in the play offs for us.

We'll save the "good luck", "well done", "hard lines", "you jammy so and sos" etc. for tomorrow eh? <laugh>

Yes we were achieving about the same standard as Leeds last season.

    Agreed Dan.

Whatever happens we have both had a tremendous season so far. City have exceeded the expectations/hopes I had pre-season. I suspect Watford have done so to <ok>

I would say your mid table position for such a big club which should be in the premier league speaks volumes about Leeds.

    Yes it does

Not long before the start of the season we were taken over. The new owner did not want our existing manager or a few of our players. He got rid of them. That is the "volumes" you speak of. He then appointed Zola as manager and lined up several players that would give Zola what he felt he needed. Too late to get them transferred so set up as loans - with a little more time we would have simply signed them. They were always brought in as Watford players and not short term loans. Unusual - yes; fair - yes; innovative way of rebuilding your squad - yes; good way of not saddling yourself with debt that can get you 10 and then 15 points penalties - yes. Enough for you to understand it now?

Don't you feel like you are banging your head against a brick wall sometimes Leo? Some people believe what they want to believe, then try and justify that belief, while totalling ignoring any facts! I get so frustrated with the nonsense that some people spout. The fact these 'loans' would probably have ended up being 'signings' if the rules/timings had been different, so we still would have had the same players, is totally lost on these morons that just can't quite get their head around it!

My dear old departed Mother had a saying that fits these people like a glove!

"There are none so blind as those who will not see!"
