    Not according to this guy:

Steve Kelly, who lost his brother Mike, 38, in the disaster, said the move was "great news".

Mr Kelly, a member of the Hillsborough Justice Campaign, said: "I am extremely pleased it will be in the North West, and would like to thank Lord Justice Goldring for this decision."

yeah, lets give the people charged with this the benefit of the doubt based on the changed public knowledge. People know the government and police of the day did wrong already.

Sorry, but I'm not convinced. I understand why the families are split about travelling to London, but you only have to overhear a conversation by Mancs who don't know you're a Scouser when the subject comes up about Hillsborough. The only place I'd want it less would be Nottingham.

Don't trust them, don't like them and the feeling's mutual. The gravity of the situation and the responsibility of the task will be lost on them the second they get the chance to display their inherent pettiness. If I'm wrong, well I'll admit it - I hope I bloody am. I don't think I am though.

In fairness Donga I've heard that conversation in quite a few places and yet I work and drink in Manchester a lot and honestly don't think you're right that it's worse there. The worst place by a million miles would have been London believe me.

It couldn't be in Liverpool and the families would never have accepted London. Not that the facts will change wherever the inquest is held but Manchester is a place where the majority of people are good socialists with an eye for fairness (don't let the idiot minority cloud your judgement about that fact).

If the families are happy with the decision then who are we to argue?

DD, there are some of us (like any team) who will take snide remarks too far, there are also many of us who will say things when with our mates out of bravado because we are, as you say, a tribe and want to be seen as part of it.
However by far the vast majority of us Mancs are at worst human and at best very good people just like the people of Liverpool. trust me when i say there will no discrimination here, we are like yourselves, we have the same heritage (not football related), the way we live and were brought up, we are the same people with different accents.

if the families are happy with where it is being held fair enough, who are we to argue or disagree, only one quote though, does he speak for the majority, or they being selective in the info they provide?

not a great choice admittedly, but as said Manchester is probably a better place than London.

as long as we get ****ing justice i don't care if it is held on the moon, this has gone on too long!!! joke of a fecking country!

you guys form LFC realsie that you couldn't hold this in liverpool itself so that it will appear to be fair then? I think this is taking a footablling rivalry way too far.

Things like this go way above football so you shouldnt really worry where its held as long as its being done, people are people and whether they live in Swansea, Manchester or newcastle honest people look for the truth.

i agree Morgan or hope that's the case anyway, but i can understand why Donga is suspicious at the same time, some of the replies to him are a bit out of order, Diego gave a good response to the sensitivity of this issue.

as long as the families are happy, we have to accept that's what they want, whether we agree with it or are suspicious about why its held there.

Cant see it being an issue. The football rivalry wont play a part and at least its in the North West what you wanted. Its more you taking the football rivalry too far saying it will be an issue than the reverse.

Completely agree with you there. I can't believe donga actually thinks people from Manchester will care about football rivalry when investigating the deaths of 96 people. Makes me shudder to think he might actually be called up for jury service on any sort of football related case in the future.

That said, I expect the powers that be will probably have it somewhere like Preston, or maybe Chester, just to avoid the sort of petty media ranting that people like donga would invariably resort to if it was held in Manchester.
