Yeah, but we're really bad at transfers so i wouldn't put it passed Spurs to fail in a deadline day bid

    Lloris

    Walker - Kaboul - Jan - Baines

    -------------Sandro----------

    ------Holtby-------Dembele----

    Bale --------Benteke-------NEW WINGER

    Subs
New GK - need a youngster as back up or league cup.
    Daws
    Bennie
    Gylfi
    Defoe
    Ade
    Townsend
    Rose
    Carrol
    Falque
    Caulker
Sessegnon - For when Dembele needs or rest, or even together imagine that!
NEW RB - I feel walker needs competition

I really think you need to look at a team and work out where your goals will come from. SAF recons you need 100 to win the title so here goes:

Stikers - Defoe, Ade, Benteke, Bale - I think this lot would get 55 goals at least.
Attacking mids/wingers - Lennon, Dembele, Sessegnon, Holtby, Gylfi, Townsend, NEW WINGER - You should be looking to get around 20 goals from these guys
Full backs, DM's and CB's - Walker, NEW RB, Daws, Kaboul, Jan, Bennie, Rose, Baines, Caulker - 15 goals is a good target, especially with Baines and Jan.

So overall that would be 90 goals, with a great keeper, solid (ish) defense, a balanced team, no players that would be completely ridic., deep squad to challenge in all cups and players that can change the game.

Just to add some detail to my thinking -

Baines - Quoted at 12, I think more likely 15m
    Benteke - 20m
    Sessegnon - 12m
    New WINGER - 15m
    NEW RB - 5m

    Total - 67m

    Incoming -

    Thud - 12m
    Dempsey - 3m
    Bentley - fiver
    Naughton - 4m

In - 19m and five pounds

this gives a difference of 48m. It's a bit of a stretch I admit, but imo there are no gambles (on the named players) with lots of experience. We are supposed to still have 20m left from last year too.
so just 28m from this years budget with all the extra wonga floating about.....and of course (as this is fictional) champs league money for this year!

We'd never get £12m for Thudd, even with Levy

    Agreed.

I wouldn't go anywhere near sessegnon either.

    Lloris,
    Walker, Alderweireld, Kaboul, Vertonghen
    Sandro, Dembele
    Lennon, Heung Min-Son, Bale
    Damiao

with a bench of: Friedel, Defoe, Caulker, Holtby, Dawson, Rose & Townsend

Plus lurking in the background for when we get inevitable injuries
Siggy, Naughton, Kane, Livermore, possibly ****ing Dempsey & Ade too

    and a wave goodbye to
Ade, Parker, Bentley, Khumalo, Gallas, Gomes, Huddlestone & Benny

Not interested in sessegnon. Son and Eriksen would do the jobs for the rest of the midfield in terms of wing plus creativity and I think holtby can be any role he wants in that midfield. No longer going to be left short if we actually play Townsend and Carroll. Damiao... let's see. Higuain??? On the move. 60k a week wages at madrid. Up to 80k to convince him to come. We might just make that. JUST. But probably not :( 110 in 180 or something similar. disgustingly good. And young. Seems like he's been around forever but would make more money from resale if we were to want to. Would need champs league for all of these things though...

Baines is even less unrealistic. I'm a big spurs fan but if I'm in Baines' situation, I'd only leave for man u. Also, I love the idea of alderweireld, purely because i've spent 2 months trying to spell and say his ******* name. However, vertonghen... centre back, don't move him. He is well aware of his qualities and flaws, he believes he is too immobile to play at full back and much prefers centre back. For the love of god keep him there.

Also, Kaboul, right back is his secondary position. Same as alderweireld. Right footed, very similar; Could be an adequate replacement in a year's time? Post Dawson and gallas; caulker, vert, kaboul, alder. Bloodynora.

Never getting 12m for Hudd. Baines would be more. So would benteke. Soldado and one of higuain, benteke or damiao would be incredible.

Also, as much as I am a fan of the british player in the british team, they are useless in the transfer market. 2 monreals for a baines, 2 bentekes for a fletcher, dembele and 5 mil for a henderson... The worst one though. 17 michus for an andy c. They're overpriced and overrated. This is why we've been developing our training facilities and youth teams. That's the way to introduce british players into our squads. Saves us a fortune, will raise us extra transfer funds and develops a single club loyalty that means they'll give everything for the badge.

Haha 17 michu's for andy Carroll! <laugh> That's signature material.

Again KOTL, I agree with all u say.

Perhaps higuian is a possibility after all? One can only dream.

Really hope we address the creative/ lack if goals from midfield issue this summer. I think it's very easy to overlook, just because we have an abundance of midfielders. that area of the pitch needs a sort out!
