Newcastle United players hit back at talk of a split camp

With three vital Premier League games to go Newcastle United stars have slammed talk of a split camp by insisting that they are well and truly together in their fight for survival

Newcastle United players released a statement tonight insisting they are "100%" together as they go into the final three games of the season.

The statement follows reports that there has been a split in the United camp during the Magpies' recent slump.

And Papiss Cisse and Cheick Tiote tonight went public by claiming that they will come through their recent problems.

Cisse said: "Every player is together.

"We are totally focussed on Saturday's game at West Ham and the two games after that. "We have a strong bond and we want the best for our Club, our manager and our wonderful fans.

"We are not happy about recent results. Nobody is happy when they lose, but this has only made us stronger as a group and we will come through this together. There is no divide in the team."

Tiote added: "We want to let the fans know that all of the players are committed and we are in this together.

"We will fight to get out of this problem and we know our fans will help us to do that.

    "They are incredible."

United managing director Derek Llambias said: "The Club is determined to turn things around and everyone is working together to secure that goal. It is not helpful when people try and distract the team and the manager with false rumours."

If we actually managed 3 wins from the next 3 games and finished on 46 points - mid table I'd expect, how would you feel? Would we still want rid of Pardew in the summer and call this an off-season/ bad spell? Or does the bad run warrant his dismissal as soon as the final whistle goes at Arsenal regardless?

(I personally think there's more chance of getting beat in all 3 than winning all 3)

I don't think this was needed. Just deny The Telegraph's claims and go about your business on the pitch. Issuing these statements just smacks of there actually being splits in the dressing room. 'The lady doth protest too much, methinks' and whatnot.

For me he should go. He's been shown up tactically this season and his excuses border on the ridiculous. Also he clearly isn't getting the best out of what he has.

I don't think we'll win all 3 (fact is i'll be surprised if we get a total of 3 points from all three)!

Well that kills all the split rumours and them not playing for Pardew. But obviously it does raise another question particularly with regard to last Saturday. They couldn't be arsed to try for the club and its fans then?

Time to shut up and put up for this bunch of prima donnas.

Sorry, I can't believe this statement at all. One can almost see Pardew standing behind them threatening with a loan spell out at Hartlepool.

I seem to recall Our Leader telling us that the players hurt before and nothing came of it. And we had our own Argentinian Douglas Bader (you know, decent bloke, no legs) telling us that the team were fired up as well. Perhaps something got lost there in translation.

I will believe it when I see Ameobi run and work as Scott Parker ever did. But in the meantime I have little faith in this lot at the moment and, to date, the best things to have turned up on the pitch were those can-can girls. I expect their time on the park will take up 90% the Season's Highlight DVD.

The way that I feel now is that even if Kinnear turned up declaring that he's still the manager I couldn't be more disillusioned.

The players are full of ****. Shut up making statement, get on the pitch and get three points. It is not rocket science.

    This statement means nothing.

I want them to make a statement on the football pitch not on a piece of paper.

How about this for a statement which would prick up some of our ears:

"We as players on the pitch on the day of the 6-0 defeat apologise for our lack of effort, lack of discipline and plain lack of spirit. For this we offer our weeks wages, a combined total of approximately £500,000, to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation as a gesture of good faith.

We promise to give 100% in our remaining three games to ensure we have a future in the premiership"

That would be a world first and very good PR.
But of course it would never happen.

The players where told to say this in light of what Luke Edwards wrote in the Telegraph. Therefor it is just talk and nothing more. If it was legit it would of been said before now and maybe our stand in skipper might of had something to say about the team spirit amongst the camp... or lack of.

Not good enough, talk is cheap we all know nothing will change just another 3 gutless performance with 11 players who do not give a ****.

The only statement I am interested in is when inept pardew is sacked to give us the only change of saving this already sunk ship

Pardew will play his same crappy formation, will have Jonas involved and will get them to lump it forward as always.

So they'll either come out and 'fight' - and so get set off and give away penalties / free-kicks. Or be as limp as Tash after our defeat to mackems. Either way, doesn't look good.
