I think the article spun it to look like it was aimed at NW. Other articles had the same words aimed at Hughes.
It would seem to me that Warnock identified the players and Beard & Swiss Tony negotiated the contracts. It was Baerd & Tony that agreed wage levels / relegation clauses not Warnock. The 'real' issue was the naiviety of Beard & TF exemplified again when Jooribichan ran rings around them with Hughes. Warnock wasn't the best manager we've ever had but he has proved to be better than Hughes and certainly no worse than 'Arry.
The kid had dangerously low blood sugar and the shop was closing in a couple of minutes. Poor show by the normally great TF - picking the most distant scapegoat. We don't learn if we constantly pass the buck.
Glad to see that my sentiments are echoed by most. As for those who think NW started the rot - I disagree. Sure, his signings weren't all perfect, but he was working with one (or more!) hand tied behind his back.
Your post was spot on but I'm meant to be working so couldn't write anything lengthy (a blessing for all ).
I seem to recall that three of our best performances of last season came immediately after the window closed and these 'suspect' players were in those teams. 0-0 v Newcastle where we totally outplayed a good Toon team and should have won. 3-0 v Wolves where we again were far superior and 1-1 v Villa where we totally outplayed them in the first half but ended up with a fortunate draw. If these players really were that bad we wouldn't have had such performances, something else contributed to the side hitting a slump and to just blame Warnock smacks of TF trying to pin the blame for his naivety on a scapegoat, in this case the wrong one, Hughes is far more culpable...
So the writer flat out lied. From TF. ""We still have a good relationship," Fernandes said on Warnock. "Not for one second do I blame him for any of this mess. " Where is the original article from the scum or the fail?
Former QPR manager Neil Warnock has defended his record at the London club and says he thinks they were wrong to fire him last season. Warnock led QPR to the Championship title in the 2010/11 campaign and they made a reasonable start to life in the Premier League under him. However, he was then sacked in January 2012 after a poor run of results and performances, with Mark Hughes hired to take over. The R's retained their Premier League status by just a point that season but Hughes was dismissed when they made a terrible start to the current campaign, and his replacement Harry Redknapp has not been able to prevent relegation. Speaking on the Footballer's Football Show, Warnock said: "If you look at the facts, I think my record in the Premier League was better than Harry's and as good as Mark's. "We were told, keep out of the bottom three until January, and then you can bring in three or four players. "We did that and then, to get to January and not have an opportunity to do that, is disappointing." Different direction However, Warnock says he does not feel bitter about chairman Tony Fernandes' decision to show him the door. "It's your club, you're entitled to do what you want, and they decided to go in a different direction," said the experienced boss, who recently left Championship side Leeds. "They'll have got a lot of advice, from a lot of people outside, saying you've got to change your manager, and all sorts of things. "Only time tells if it's the right decision and I don't think it was." http://www.teamtalk.com/premier-league/8686283/Neil-Warnock-thinks-QPR-got-it-wrong-when-they-fired-him-last-season As expected really.
