Good morning one and all from a bright and sunny Weston, I'm off to visit my sister this morning, culminating in e day-late birthday lunch, so I may not be around during the day. I hope you all have a terrific day!
Lovely day up here too - bright and sunny and a slight breeze over the sea causing the surface to shimmer & sparkle - I'm viewing that as an eye catching omen for the week-end.... Annoyingly, I've woken up with a raging throat - a lemsip and coffee day at home today methinks - need to protect those vocal cords.

Hitler getting mad about this Saturday...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=2zrjopuqsUM
Morning all from a bright & sunny West West London - hoping this weather holds over the week-end as there is not much better that a sunny afternoon at a yellow bedecked Vic. I popped into the shop on Tuesday to get Little Miss W_Y a home shirt for saturday and the sponsors night (if and when?) and they only had very small kids sizes left . Thanks for the frothy AK and hope that call arrives today....
Saves me a trip then - would probably need about 20 of them and the services of a Hong Kong tailor.........
Morning all...and what a beautiful one it is. Coffee in the garden and perhaps a bit of light pottering sounds like a good plan...followed by a quick vote (if any of the parties will promise not to build thousands of houses on the edge of a village not too far from us). Nimbyism I know, but the planners all live in Winchester and the ability of one small village to cope with an estate bigger than itself won't affect them at all. It smacks more of meeting national government quotas than sensible planning and there are plenty of more suitable sites much closer to work and facilities.
Theo - it will be even worse next year when 29 million Romanians & Bulgarians flock there next year. According to UKIP anyway......
morning all, thanks for the caramel latte Ak, any news? Have a great day Dave, and everyone! It's gorgeous out there
Problem with these developments is that the local facilities needed are not built as well. So no local shops, no schools, no pubs, no jobs, no transport - they expect everyone to drive and then moan about the congestion.
No job news Hornette. We had election here on sunday. The result was like this. Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn (independence) have 19 seats Framsóknarflokkurinn (progressive) 19 Samfylkingin (social democratic) have 9 seats Vinstrihreyfingin – grænt framboð (left green) have 7 Regnboginn (rainbow) 6 PÃratar (pirate) 3 Their beliefs can be a bit strange but the english names could give an idea. To be government you have to win 32 seats. Bjarni Benediktsson of Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn will be prime minister. Over 80% of people who are allowed to vote did.
A good article here. It does make you wonder if staying in the Championship would be so bad. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11096/8683645/Prem-v-Champ
Loving those party names - especially the one that looks like the great framboo - I'd vote for them on that alone. Who is the leader of the pirate party - Noggin? Or perhaps a Somalian refugee? Nimbyism is the practice of opposing something generally seen as undesirable from being located in your own neighbourhood. We are all guilty of it to varying degrees - but it's only politicians who do it on the quiet, as it seems there are never any announcements of proposals to build prisons, nuclear reactors, sewage plants or housing estates near where they live.
Apparently, it was the only slot available on Saturday. If pie or I had booked it, it would be on a different day, but his mum booked it and the only sport she has any interest in is motorsport (mainly F1 and rallying).
