I think its because the universe has finally stopped expanding and has reached a homeostatic state but - crucially - has not yet started the process of collapsing in on itself yet, therefore the normal rules of quantum mechanics have been suspended and the parallel universes of all possible outcomes occurring simultaneously are merging rather than existing separately. Normal service will be resumed for 0.00000001 of a second when the universe reverses its expansion. Thereafter we cease to exist and all we have written will be lost like tears in rain. Although, neither tears nor rain will exist either and to all practical purposes will never appear to have existed. That's what I think anyway
