James Pearson has signed a new contract along with George Taft, Rob Paratore and Jacob Blyth @OfficialFOXES: Young pros @tafty6, @Blythy9 & @jpearson30 sign 1-yr extensions, while U18 Rob Paratore signs 1st pro deal. http://t.co/P5pVG3iRqn It may be nothing but would the Nigel be giving his son a contract if he was set to lose his job?
Bloody hell he looks like his dad! Nice to see young players signing contracts, even though we do already have a young team.
If I was in his position (facing the sack!!) I'd give my son a contract too before I left....at least he can secure his sons short term future if not his own! lol
Yep. 2 wins in 16 is relegation form and probably a record without being sacked at this level. He needs to go IMO.
There is divided opinion on here charlie Some are showing admiral loyalty to Nigel Pearson and do have a point in that our club needs stability Others are thinking like AKCJ, again with good reason - this run would have got most managers sacked I'm more with AKCJ - not just on the run of results - more because of NP's inability to break the team out of it, his tactics and his man management - these have reaffirmed the doubts I've always held about his ability to 'manage' at the top level - a large part of which is being able to man manage all types of player - i.e including the temperamental and the egotistic - rather than just marginalising them. The one thing we have in common is an undeniable passion for our club and the underlying ambition to see us playing entertaining football at the top level of English football...
Spot on, Fosse We just all seem to have differing views of how to get there Have genuinely enjoyed reading everyones opinions of whether NP should be sacked or not, you can see both sides of the argument really. I am of the opinion that it is only worth sacking him if the replacement is worth it, such as MON... But I am not convinced he would come.
That's what it boils down to for me. If he's going to get the boot, it has to be because the incoming manager will be a genuine improvement. No point sacking him if there's no one better available.
^This. We have a really young team - stability will be better then more chopping and changing unless we can get the likes of MON. And as for Pearson jr - if he turns out to be anything like his dad, we could have a solid player there.
