There's only one destination top players will go in Germany, Bayern. Italy, only Juventus seem to be attracting top talent, but I'm sure that last on most players preferences on top leagues on Europe to play in at the moment. Spain just has Madrid and Barca. England has Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea attracting the top talent from aroun the world, with Arsenal and Spurs in the use below and could very well get a big name or two this summer. So England have had two poor years in the CL, and England still had a team win the Champions League. With Mourinho coming to Chelsea, and rumors of United spending big this summer, and I think City will finally make out of a group stage, we'll have 3-4 teams coming out of the group stage with United and Chelsea within a good chance of making it deep into the knock out rounds.

Gonna be out of the top30 after next season i'm afraid! 2014 rankings before any points have been earned and Pool will only get a few (3 to 4) from Englands country part of the team ranking but virtually all the 6 or 7 teams below them will be in the CL! 20 Borussia Dortmund Ger 3.6166 10.1332 10.0500 33.4428 57.242 21 Sporting CP Lisbon Por 14.0000 13.7600 22.3666 6.2500 56.376 22 Rubin Kazan Rus 14.2332 12.1832 9.9500 19.9500 56.316 23 Zenit St. Petersburg Rus 2.7332 18.1832 19.9500 14.9500 55.816 24 Liverpool Eng 24.5856 15.6714 3.0500 12.1428 55.449 25 FC Basel Sui 7.1500 10.1800 20.2000 17.6750 55.205 26 Juventus Ita 18.0856 8.3142 2.2714 25.8832 54.554 27 Paris Saint-Germain Fra 3.0000 14.1500 9.1000 27.3500 53.600 28 Bayer Leverkusen Ger 3.6166 16.1332 19.0500 12.4428 51.242 29 Ajax Ned 10.8832 15.2332 14.7200 9.8428 50.679 30 Manchester City Eng 3.5856 16.6714 20.0500 10.1428 50.449 31 Athletic Bilbao Esp 11.5856 3.6428 27.1714 7.5428 49.942 32 FC Twente Enschede Ned 9.8832 17.2332 17.7200 4.8428 49.679 33 Sporting Braga Por 3.0000 25.7600 12.3666 8.2500 49.376 34 VfB Stuttgart Ger 20.6166 13.1332 3.0500 12.4428 49.242 35 Villarreal Esp 10.5856 26.6428 8.1714 3.5428 48.942 36 Girondins Bordeaux Fra 30.0000 2.1500 2.1000 14.3500 48.600 37 Olympiakos Piraeus Gre 17.5800 2.5200 17.5200 10.8800 48.500 38 Dinamo Kiev Ukr 9.1600 19.0166 7.5500 10.9000 46.626 39 Sevilla Esp 22.5856 12.6428 5.6714 3.5428 44.442 40 Metalist Kharkiv Ukr 2.6600 10.0166 19.5500 11.9000 44.126
This is where it shows how much of a joke it is for for teams finishing third in the CL group stages getting a second chance in EL. Man Utd did better than Chelsea in this year's CL but Chelsea could yet win the EL which (I believe) will get them more points in the UEFA rankings!
Yep, City are screwed as there currently 22nd and if all the European leagues finish as they are now, only 3 teams above them wont make the CL so the'll most likely be seeded in Pot3 with a good chance of drawing Barca, Bayern or Real as top seeds if Arsenal and Chelsea qualify.
Yep but its also based on how many games you win. Normally the EL winners get around the same as the a CL semi finalist as they get a lot less Bonus points: This year points: * Cup Match Points-Quali Points-Bonus Points -Total-Points Country-Part Team Coef 1 Bayern München Ger CL 19.00 0.00 12.00 31.00 3.5284 34.5284 2 Borussia Dortmund Ger CL 18.00 0.00 12.00 30.00 3.5284 33.5284 3 Real Madrid Esp CL 15.00 0.00 11.00 26.00 3.5428 29.5428 4 FC Barcelona Esp CL 13.00 0.00 11.00 24.00 3.5428 27.5428 5 Paris Saint-Germain Fra CL 15.00 0.00 10.00 25.00 2.3500 27.3500 6 Juventus Ita CL 13.00 0.00 10.00 23.00 2.8832 25.8832 7 Málaga CF Esp CL 12.00 0.00 10.00 22.00 3.5428 25.5428 8 Benfica Por EL 17.00 0.00 6.00 23.00 2.2500 25.2500 9 Chelsea Eng EL 16.00 0.00 6.00 22.00 3.1428 25.1428 10 Fenerbahçe Tur EL 20.00 0.00 2.00 22.00 2.0400 24.0400 10 Galatasaray Tur CL 12.00 0.00 10.00 22.00 2.0400 24.0400 12 Valencia Esp CL 10.00 0.00 9.00 19.00 3.5428 22.5428 13 Schalke 04 Ger CL 10.00 0.00 9.00 19.00 3.5284 22.5284 14 FC Porto Por CL 11.00 0.00 9.00 20.00 2.2500 22.2500 15 Arsenal Eng CL 9.00 0.00 9.00 18.00 3.1428 21.1428 16 Manchester United Eng CL 9.00 0.00 9.00 18.00 3.1428 21.1428 17 Lazio Roma Ita EL 17.00 0.00 1.00 18.00 2.8832 20.8832 18 Rubin Kazan Rus EL 17.00 0.00 1.00 18.00 1.9500 19.9500 19 AC Milan Ita CL 8.00 0.00 9.00 17.00 2.8832 19.8832 20 Tottenham Hotspur Eng EL 15.00 0.00 1.00 16.00 3.1428 19.1428 21 Shakhtar Donetsk Ukr CL 8.00 0.00 9.00 17.00 1.9000 18.9000 22 Newcastle United Eng EL 14.00 0.00 1.00 15.00 3.1428 18.1428 23 FC Basel Sui EL 14.00 0.00 2.00 16.00 1.6750 17.6750 24 Internazionale Ita EL 14.00 0.00 0.00 14.00 2.8832 16.8832 25 Celtic Sco CL 7.00 0.00 9.00 16.00 0.8600 16.8600 Its definitely true that it favours teams dropping out the CL into the EL

BTW, there is a chance that Liverpool could be in the EL next via the fair play league. Not sure the club would be overly keen as it would mean playing qualifying games from the start of July
Even though Bayern munich fully deserves this vicotory, they are very strong but this is ridiculous but the agg score line is Bayern 0-7 barcalona, Barcalona got raped. Even without Messi, Brcalona still got world class players. is the spanish domination coming to an end? it now seems like Teams now know how Barcalona plays, if your not scared and press them high and stop their passing game, you can beat them.
Yep, Liverpool are second in the FP table behind the Arse and England were 4th in the last interim Uefa FP table with the top3 qualifiying. Think the final Uefa FP table should be due soon as its up 30th April IIRC. Your right, it would f**k up your season as you'd go in at the first qualy round in July and Rogers said he didn't want to but he might get overuled by the Money men.
It would be from the first round too. We had to play qualifying game this season bu started in the second round so not massively different. Last summer was the Euro's and Olympics so we hardly had any players available for the qualifying games. BR played the youngsters who were good enough to get us few most games. Probably just do something similar again. Of course, Suarez could play in those matches too so would help build his match fitness up
You could play Suarez (if he back from the Confederations cup) to keep him fresh Edit: beat me too it!!
Have to say I think it would be hilarious to see the media reaction if Liverpool and Suarez got into Europe via the Fair Play award Tho' worth noting that the Fair Play table hasn't been updated since Gnawgate, so if it looks like you'll get in the FA will probably try and slap you with a low score for respecting opponents and knock off points for the retrospective red card. Amusingly enough that could result in Reading getting a Fair Play spot whilst playing in the Championship...
Thought Rodgers just said he wouldn't be keen on the idea, didn't say he would definitely turn it down. Ultimately the decision will be out of his hands - if Henry, Ayre et al think the Europa will be good for Liverpool then you'll be in it next season, assuming you qualify of course.
Its not been announced by the club yet but the story is out there. I'll be very disappointed should this be the case
