I know some of you guys on the forum keep an amazing amount of statistics so I was wondering if any of you had anything that shows out of all the rumours and gossip that go the rounds, what percentage are actually true. For Sunderland would be good but even better would be a Premiership league table so that when reports hit the forum we could better judge how accurate they might be.

Not many response here so I guess I'll start the ball rolling ...

    User Name; Bigger Chris <doh>

Any speculation / tactics / rumour mill / general gossip (usually with the odd insult thrown in for good measure) the chances of it being remotely accurate are a big fat zero!

Personally I take it all with a pinch of salt until anyone linked with the club is seen locally whether it be for a medical or contract discussions.

An ITK source informs me Messi jetted into sunny Durham Tees Valley airport this morning ahead of his big match at Wembley on Saturday. Rumoured to have said something along the lines of he's looking forward to playing for a proper club next season and just hopes he's good enough to get into Bruce's starting eleven week in week out. He's excited at the prospect of playing at state of the art stadiums next season, in particular the DW stadium and Carrow Road. This was all said with a Spanish tongue of course!

I hope this Messi fellow isn't expecting to just walk into the first team. Steve Bruce has a policy of letting new overseas players bed in for some time, anything up to a year. We don't want some Johnny Foreigner upsetting team morale.

I'm not sure about Messi, he's South American, so he'll probably just be another Angeleri.

Quinn said today that we were linked, through the media, with either 192 or 196 players over the past year, of them we've signed 4.
