  2. I think his best goal is one of his first. From byline when the keeper anticipates a cross but he shoots intead. Sunderland or Stoke I think

I liked the 60-yard pass from Enrique onto his toe but only because it was a so not-Brendan goal.

Actually if anything it seems like that sort of ball has been encouraged for the majority of the season. Enrique long ball to Suarez has been a fixture of our attacking play for a while.

We have changed our approach anyway, IMO. Rodgers gave up on the tiki taka at some point (can't remember when exactly) and we've been playing much more direct than we were at the start of the season. Not sure if that was just to get short term results and get us until the end of the season or whether he's planning on playing more direct football into next season. And by direct I mean taking 3 passes to get up the pitch, rather than passing the ball sideways and working our way slowly up the pitch, not playing long balls up to Suarez.

We've gotten a few goals that way this season and missed a few chances created too excuse you<laugh>

I'm all for the players getting their head up and not just blindly following instructions.

I mean, Brendan is not hitleresque in micromanaging the players in how they should turn, pass, tackle and stride during a match ala Gerrez playing FIFA13, badly. Early on in the season we did look like we were had intentions of keeping possession to the point of taking big risks at the back but the midfield has better movement now I think, and make themselves available more so than earlier in the season. Movement is better up front a lot of the time.

players have to play a system, but they play their way in the system and a new system the players have to adjust themselves in how they play as individuals as well as how to play the system as a team.

Just wait and if it goes tits up I'll get a new avatar that says MFG was ****ing right all along.

Sunderland <ok> I liked that one, but my favourite Luis Suarez goal was the third goal (second freekick) against Udinese, the curve on that was immense! The freekick against City was good too but the other one is my favourite <ok>

It has to be the goal against Newcastle - you often see the 30 yarder thunderbolts every season, insane volleys etc. But you rarely see that Suarez goal - long ball, controlled to perfection on the chest/shoulder whilst battling against Colochini, and then have the presence of mind to take it round the keeper who was only a few yards away from him, and tuck it away.

Has to be goal of the season for me.
