anything really, Luiz,Ramires or Hazard to score their usual goal against us, Torres either boked, misses open goal or scores. us to surrender a 2 goal lead. Have you gpt a bet on Barca making the final tonight?
Yes and last season proved it as you come below us and finished 5th. If it weren't for the flukiest champions league win in european history, it would of been us in the champions league The facts are, your run is the hardest. Like i said, i still think you will come 3rd but have a little hope because i can definetly see you dropping points against United and Everton.
Arsenal used to try and spin that line every year and instead of finishing 1st they finished 2nd, 3rd or 4th. Didn't Spurs have the "hardest run in" the year you qualified for CL football? Everything you've said is completely subjective. Why is Man Utd (with nothing to play for) a harder game than Wigan (with everything to play for)? All that matters is form and we are in great form with players at the peak of fitness, we have arguably the fittest squad in the league and have had to because of the heavy run in. I would be the first to admit that Spurs should have been playing CL football but the fact you aren't has nothing to do with Chelsea and everything to do with you losing a 13 point gap over Arsenal (to cost you automatic qualification) and UEFA's farcical rules which should have allowed you in anyway, at least at the expense of one of the Turkish teams. It's all in the balance and can go either way, but I'd rather play teams with nothing to play for and minds elsewhere than play teams with everything to lose. Whatever your thoughts are on Chelsea's Champions League win, there's simply no way Spurs or any English side would have had the character to overcome Barcelona and Bayern in the circumstances as we did.
I'm going on Sunday and I'm quite hopeful! We seem to be somewhat of a bogey team for you and each of our meetings this season, we should have won them all... I wonder if Rafa can out think Fergie again?
I can't believe you're saying all this now, a few weeks ago you were saying how Arsenal's easy run in guaranteed they'd finish in the top 4.
I'm not sure about overall but this season I know! No it will be a good game but I'm hoping with you having nothing to play for you'll be below par and us fighting for the top 4... Also given the fact that we knocked you out of both cups and should have got something out of the first league game... Play like we did in that second half at Old Trafford this season and we should get something.
When? I said Arsenal not playing any of the top 6 sides bar United would help them because they struggle against the better sides whereas generally speaking we (Chelsea) do better against the better sides so obviously playing more better sides would arguably benefit us in the run in, in complete contrast to Arsenal.
Why is Utd a harder game than Wigan? One look at the teamsheets and another at the 50+ point gap in the league table should answer that.
Exactly, sorry district line aka Bubbles. Sugar coat it how you like mate. Playing Wigan regardless of battling relegation is in no way harder than playing United even if they have nothing to play for. United were by far the better team at the emirates 2nd half and probably deserved to win it so that completely goes against your view that United will just roll over now. Give me Wigan away anyday of the week over United even if United have won the league. DAVE, ja is all good mate
You simply don't understand football then, either that or you are choosing to be myopic. West Ham 02/03, Portsmouth 05/06, Fulham 07/08, Wigan 11/12 etc all recent examples of struggling sides that have put together a run of form resembling that of a title chasing side when need be. A 50 point gap is irrelevant, United have nothing to prove or to play for. Players simply won't carry that extra motivation to go all out, it's impossible to do so when you've had the kind of run United had to get them the title in the first place Remind me, how did you did you get on at Wigan away and how did you get on at United away? There are simply too many variables in football to draw the kind of conclusion you have. History has proven time and time again that teams with something to play for in April/May are as tough as better teams with nothing to play for thus less incentive to win. United should be the fresher side and may well best us, sorry but anyone that thinks they carry as much of an incentive to win on Sunday as we do is deluded.
Daddies of the Capit"o"l. I thought that was Spurs 1882.Any London teams older? Must be the only club to have their first meeting under a lamp post.......who would have thought that a future player named Beckham would have 150 mil tucked away (and a bloody ugly old lady!He MUST have a bit on the side!!!!!?)
That's not the point, DL. Utd have far better quality players than Wigan. Utd win 90% of matches at OT whatever the importance of the result. Would Chelsea really prefer a game at OT than the DW stadium? I doubt any of your players would agree with your point of view. They all know that if they perform on the day they will beat Wigan comfortably; the same cannot be said of a game against Utd.
