jerzeypie has his first driving lesson on Saturday at 2.30, so I won't be watching the match - last thing he needs before the lesson is the stress of events at the Vic and the KC. When I asked him which he was more nervous about, he said the match.
Cough, cough - you must mean Perry with a Ginger flavouring as there is no such thing as Pear Cider...but I hope you enjoyed it although there must be some better options than Magners down in worzle country?
For some reason calling perry 'cider' really irritates me as well. I was offered a sample of a pear 'cider' in a supermarket here, a couple of months ago, and made this point. The marketing guy sighed and said that he had never heard of perry until that day when every Pom that had passed him had informed him of the difference.
There is such thing as pear cider actually sold in all good scandinavian supermarkets, it tastes like liquid sugar you can get different "flavours lime lemon , strawberry etc only difference is the colour!
There are indeed lots of wonderful options down here, but I wanted to try the Magners one purely for the ginger content! It is extremely moreish, I can envisage another trip up to Tesco to re-stock!
It's good to travel round all the little cider farms and sample their wares, you need to use a tee-total driver though, funny thing is, he always looks blurred at the end of the day!
Evening all Back from a day trip to Petworth House...remarkable Grinling Gibbons wood carving, some very good van Dyck portraits, Capability Brown-designed garden with a good lake to walk around and very acceptable sandwiches, chocolate cake and Sussex beer. What's more the sun stayed out all day!
theo, I've tried to track "Glint of Silver" on Amazon and it's trying to sell me a CD by some group that I've already forgotten the name of! Can you help please?

Try 'The Glint of Silver', Dave. If that doesn't work I'll put a link in. http://amazon.co.uk/dp/1478305584
Norway - The alcoholic drink made from fermented Pear juice is called Perry. Cider is made from Apple juice - although it now comes in every flavour imaginable. Is it Kopperburg they sell?, it's very popular here as well.
