So, avoid those ladders & don't kick any black cats people! Sunderland forward Stephane Sessegnon will miss the rest of the season after his appeal against the three-match ban for his dismissal against Aston Villa on Monday night is rejected, the Football Association confirms. This is the optimism thread! No negatives here please......well unless you want to!
That is very, very good news for our trip to the North-East, much of their resurgence has been based around him. Got to be a blow to their morale, and the news should have Di Canio kicking a few players in frustration at the training ground! Quite unexpected for me, I thought it would get overturned.
p.s. When I first read this thread I thought it was Messi going to be missing out on tonight's game, and that you'd called him a sissy....I need glasses
I would have bet good money that would be overturned. We haven't even appealed ours, I presume, because both looked nailed on. Only good news if we turn up and play, though. Hope Mauricio has had a word or thirty with our players as well.
h Judging on the basis of Sessegnon's being declined I think there is zero point even looking at ours.
I thought Ses should have got a yellow, but to over turn it would open a massive can of worms. I think our lads were correct reds, Gaston maybe unlucky, but he gave Long the chance to get him in trouble. Fox, well, some say he was just off the pace.....I'd say reckless!
Can see them struggling in our four team end of season mini league then. They badly need to be three points clear of Wigan on the last day or it's squeaky bum time. Actually, just being clear of Villa will secure it.
They do overturn some of them, but has to be a clear mistake rather than just a difference of opinion. They don't like to undermine the officials.
That used to be the case, but not so much any more http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...cinded-red-card-leaves-referees-confused.html
Had a quick look and they rescinded two from the same game earlier in the season. Carlton Cole and Gibson. There's been a few others rescinded like Nzonzi against us, Jordi Gomez, Huddlestone. Possibly a couple more.
