If the QPR players such as SWP, Park and AJ have model 1 in their contracts, does this mean the club will have to contribute towards their players wages even once they leave the club, as I cannot see another club paying these three anywhere near the amounts they're on at QPR?

A major problem, apart from those you guys make, is the 'long term' injured like AJ and BZ (who apparently is to have an op which could keep him out for 10 months). I'll be honest I don't know enough about QPR to even guess how many fall into this category but memory says a few didn't make the 25 squad cut because of it and there have been a couple side-lined since.

Doesn't make them that different from other teams (Grygera and Diarra for us) except for the length of contracts still to run and the size of the wages.

Their not going to get rid of these players and are going to be saddled with either hefty compensation or ongoing costs.

Don't clubs take out insurance against injuries to players and also isn't there something about putting players who are not in the 25 as a tax loss.

You're correct about the insurance SuperBri. And obviously I don't know the 'terms and conditions' but unlikely to cover the period till the end of their contracts.

Also doubt if there is any tax payable to 'write off' against.

The main point though is that they'll have a heck of a job selling on players with serious/long record of injuries. And players with wages that, for example, AJ and BZ are allegedly receiving.

Inevitable really. The rest of us have been wetting ourselves watching QPR's performances all season.
