I don't think it's likely to happen either but I think we'd be best off getting experienced cover at left back, and Bridge is probably available and the right sort of age. Plus I like players returning to their roots before retirement. Brighton have only got him on loan haven't they? So it's not really THAT big a gamble.
He is a free transfer at the end of the season. Can't see him getting a Prem contract personally, even as a back up.
I would say there are better options available at back up for left back. Also, we don't know how well Targett would adapt if he was called upon.
Burnley would never forgive us for taking yet another of their players would they? Ince looks good but would you take him over Scott Sinclair who is allegedly a summer target along with Astori and possibly the young celtic keeper, Fraser Foster?
He'd get at least as many games as Puncheon and Ramirez are. Not that I believe it will happen, he's only being linked with us because his brother is on our books.
I expected Nigel to try and sign Ince in January but presumably Blackpool weren't playing ball. Then we sacked him. Although his dad is there it is difficult to imagine him doing another season at Blackpool because they don't look much like building back to last season's standards. Could happen.
25 league starts this season, that's more than Ramirez, Lallana, Shaw, and Fonte, among others, and the same number as Cork. Not bad for a squad player! Obviously he hasn't started as many lately, but still. With Ramirez out, he's probably back in the starting lineup.
He's regressed to a squad player over the last few months, his current squad status is all that really matters - two starts since early February. Not good for someone more than a squad player! But yes, Ramirez has been in and out of the side (you could argue he's a squad player), Lallana and Shaw have both struggled with injuries, and Fonte is definitely a squad player himself.
What's Puncheon's contract situation? I can imagine a newly promoted Prem side offering him first team football.
Yeah, what's that about? With Gaston out, he'll get some time on the pitch, lets hope he can force his way back in with his previous form.
Not sure if it's been discussed, but that Lowton looked good for Villa last night. If Villa go down then maybe we could put in an offer for him to be Clyne's back up; he can take set-pieces and set up Benteke for one of his goals from a corner.
Doesn't look like they're going down now, and I'm not sure he'd be happy to be a backup. He's one of Villa's more dependable defenders.
