No I wouldn't - we should be looking for the best value regardless of how much money we have to spend <ok>

    no!!!

if we sell suarez for 50mil i expect us to be able to get 3-4 players.

If erikkson goes to spurs for 17mil i think rdgoers should be shot and then ian ayre hung outside the ground spending the amount you could get an aguero for. think about that... you want to buy a guy who's flopped since christmans whos record is average in spain for how much??? you could get a world class player for that much.

If Dortmund shows interest, it's going to be hard to get Eriksen, but the Armenian bloke looks a decent choice aswell. I'd love if we went for Diego Ribas though, he'd be a better choice than Eriksen, he's a lot more experienced and has been in great form.

I'd also want us to get HBA, he's a top player. I wouldn't really be too worried about his injury record. Think Newcastle handled it all wrong. Rushing him most of the time and only aggravating his injury. He could be big improvement from Downing.

As for a CB, I'm not really a fan of Alderwatever, looks a lot similar to Agger. We need to look for a real beast. I think Sakho or Dede could be a much better option.

i think yes if dortmund bid based on gotze going then i think he may well go there but they may not pay as much as us to erikkson. I am not without hope if we move fast.

I've nothing for or against HBA. i think he's so one footed that he's peaked, is he the guy?

  12. Unless we can get him for under £8m I don't want HBA, but I think it is fairly safe to say we won't be getting him cheap, especially with Mike Ashley in charge there!

I think we'll only go in for him as a part exchange with Carroll.

Would you prefer him or Benteke?

when newkie are relegated where will be no buyers for carroll but HBA will be cheap.

are we comparing carroll to benteke? frankly already i think benteke is by far the better player. before carroll's original injury he was reasonably impressive but since we got him i can only see a ponderous player who need to be far more lively and run about more... plus he misses far too many for my liking. especially headers.

I'm glad to see some sort of distancing from pearce.

I also would "Like to see" business done early but the reality is you can only do what the selling club wants to. there is no summer tournament so i thik there is little excuse to see half the window pass by with no activity due to stupid holidays for staff etc. I would like to see us have the most vital signings in before preseason this time. Especially the forward.

reality is however if we need carroll moeny to buy then we're talking deadline day activity.

I would have Benteke over Carroll.

However, I would rather we don't buy anyone from the UK market because we will be subjected to ridiculous, over inflated prices.

A post I made failed. The comparison wasn't with Carroll. Benteke of Ben Arfa?

Ahhh. Good question - to be honest, we need both types of players i.e another striker and another creative midfielder/winger.

However, I would take a winger over a striker because we need a first team winger to replace Downing. We already have first team strikers in Suarez and Sturridge, however we do need a good back up.

  19. I think Benteke and Sturridge are similar so, if we are ignoring injuries, I'd have HBA out of thsoe two. However, considering injuries I would take Benteke despite his similarities to Daniel because HBA plays about three games a season <doh>

In reality, I want neither. Not that Benteke isn't a very good prospect, I just think we have other needs.

Benteke would be a great player to bring on as a game changer.

Really good balance of skill and power.

HBA in some sort of Carroll deal would be great - even if he plays 20-25 games he'd be a good player to have when fit. Adds depth and real talent.
