Doncaster Rovers give Brian Flynn two-week contract... Flynn, 57, took over on a deal until the end of the season in January and led the club to the League One title with a dramatic win over Brentford. Rovers chairman John Ryan told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We've extended Brian's contract by a couple of weeks so he's still getting paid. "I'm going to sit down with the major shareholders on Tuesday and discuss a lot of peoples' futures." He added: "It isn't just Brian, there are a lot of other people out of contract too." He's just got them promoted to the Championship and they have rewarded him with a 2 week contract, I'm not scaremongering, just a thought but I know they always liked SOD you don't think there is any possibilities do you.....? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22339402
We don't want to end up like the blue few, changing managers willy nilly every couple of months.. I rather we stuck with him see what he can do in league 1
SOD is better rhan the last couple of manager but he hasnt lived up to the hype and no one id imagine has been pleased with the tactics and player choices. Hopefully next season if he can get rid of most players and start with a clean slate might be different but if he does go who do u bring in as cant see us attracting a well known face for league one football as id love someone like mark hughes who i know we wouldnt get but he does well with smaller teams like when he was at wales and blackburn just couldnt suceed at bigger money spending clubs like man city and qpr when he was under pressure to deliver
im with lan. For **** sake the blokes been our manager for less than 4 months. You can tell by the way SOD speaks he is here for the long haul. He wants to put his name in the legend books. Yes its not been a great end to the season but people have to realise we were going down. We're relegated now and SOD knows how to get teams playing football and how to get teams promoted. Lets just look forward to what will happen over the summer and what will be a more than successful season.
As I have said before the bloke is not lighting any fires for me.. But I also said any new manager needs at least 2 transfer windows to be judged and at least 1 whole season. at least. !! I am wiping the slate clean as far as last season goes, but I would like to see the fabled 'clear out' and no messing this time.. I hope he stays for next season or it will always be 'what if ?'
When things were going well for Millen we praised him on being able to strike good deals with other managers and being respected. He got us Caulker and Rose from 'Arry; two players that have gone on to win England caps. When he went, he was dubbed useless and a part of the old regime. When things were going well for McInnes we said he knew his tactics, he was a bright young manager that had worked wonders on a shoestring in Scotland. When he went, he was useless and lacked the experience in England to know how good the Championship is. We like SOD right now, but if things don't turn around the fans will turn on him too. That being said, I'd only want SOD gone if Donny were willing to pay top dollar to get him out of his contract.
'Scuse me! Johnson - 2010 Coppell - 2010 Millen - 2010 McInness - 2011 O'Driscoll - 2013 I agree you need stability though. I think you should stick with Sniffer for the next five years.
Too sweeping a statement! He's Bristol City's manager but for me I have yet to be convinced. He talks a lot of sense BUT the team is no better now than when he arrived. And there are enough of the highly paid dross of the last five years still under contract for next season to make me and many others, seriously concerned about any success next season. This jury member has not decided anything about SO'D for the long term - in fact if Donny came in for him now, I'd say goodbye and go get a real manager in who really would sort out the dross. Guess who?
Wake up everyone and smell the roses. Bristol City are an absolute mess right now and the right hand and the the left hand stopped taliking years ago so don't be surprised at anything that happens at Ashton gate in the future. Sean will leave when he feels the time is right and perhaps an offer might arise soon and if it does we'll move on in our usual lacklustre way. Many rotten apples hanging around BS3 and maybe he doesn't like the smell but as you say it's just a rumour but I know what I would do!
Don't leave me in suspense cidered. If a change were to be made now is the time because we truly need someone that we can believe in don't we?
No name at the moment Mike, because most on here would shoot me down immediately and ruin the thread. If I say any more it will give it away but it won't be too long before someone smells/spells him out. This is not based on any rumour as I think the Board will stick with SO'D but if he decides to go let it be sooner rather than later.
He's an obnoxious bastard but gets teams going and promoted! Long term building needed which will take forever but a short term fix with him might get us moving again. Why is he called Colin? That's my name and I'm very proud of my name.
