Alex Pearce is quite a popular character.

In summary he is very strong and physical and doesnt hold back in a tackle. He likes to get stuck in.

He is tall and his biggest strength is in the air. He is seen as not only good at winning the ball in the air but also very accurate headers to team mates. He gets a good number of goals from set pieces because of this.

He is very vocal and is seen as a leader figure, becoming Reading's vice captain at age 20.

His weakness is he has little pace.

He also has little PL experience, and no top level success.

 

Can't believe after all the names and those willing to come to anfield we go after Pearce.......

 

Why are people moaning when we haven't even signed him yet? How strong is the link/rumour?

We just need to wait until Summer and then see what happens, if you wait until summer and we do end up getting him, then complain all you want

 

Pretty random rumor mate, don't think it would just pop out of nowhere.

 

I think there no harm is a wee moan.

the man in the street test would prove that this rumour would be roundly criticised if it happened.

Imagine a line up of pearce and williams at the back with joe allen in midfield and borini up top.... just think on that one for a few minutes.


th whole point of this thread really i thought was not waiting for the deals to occur but to hear the latest gossip. I for one thing alex pearce is the next... bjorne Kvarme... i can't wait!

Well the threads called official summer signings, our signings that we make during the summer, sure discuss the rumours that are flying around but there was no link to even suggest that the rumour might even be remotely true, just moaning about nothing

 

If he improves our squad depth and gives us the option of some extra steel and aggression in defence then he could make a good free transfer.

 

We have that in abundance with Skrtel right now!

That is true, and I'd much rather keep Skrtel.

Pearce is more likely to replace Coates.

£30m would be a gigantic risk.

 

you should know i like moaning about nothing. it stops me moaning about the big things.

 

I'm guessing Skrtel is on a very good wage and he's hardly playing so we might as well get a decent back up for less wages, and pick up about £10m? Same applies to Coates (but he'll be on less wages).

I hope we get Alderweirald - such a classy defender with good experience - same age as Pearce but look at the difference.

Also, £30m for Michu is a joke. I hope Rodgers and co buy players from outside of the UK market as we'll only end up being fleeced.

this is completely made up. 30mil is such a lovely round number. I would be shocked if the guy has not got a release fee much less than that for one and second he's been a right flop for a while now.. i cannot believe people keep ignoring how bad swansea are. they remind me of blackpool under brown. fell apart totally.

What if we sold Suarez for £50m and bought Michu for £30m and Eriksen for £20m, would people be happy?


For the record, I don't want us to sign Michu at all. I certainly don't want to see us spend £30m on him!!!
