yeah some nasty pics of them yesterday have come out. there are always idiots and thier away fans have always been good at anfield. If wigan fans all ask where the hell this crowd of 30k "fans" came from when they go to Wembley for a good trouncing in may I think that'll be a good thing. how they survive in the prem i do not know cos they have not got a le tiss type character have they. Stories like theirs are a dime a dozen... but look at LUTON and WIMBLEDON for the scary future they might have. could wigan do a wimbledon? no i don't mean win the cup! I can't see them lasting in the prem but a move to milton keynes? surely that's a stretch
Stoke and QPR both being relegated would make me happy. Don't want Wigan to fall because I like their story. Little club in a rugby town rapidly shooting up the leagues. Getting to the Prem even despite being located in a region saturated with storied "big clubs". For years the only club in pl to have never been relegated from a top flight league... ever. That said Whelan is an arsehole.
Wigan have more to answer for, their highest crowds are when manc invade thier stadium to sing racist chants at suarez. there i said it so sue me. I do not understand how the do f all for 7month of a season then decide to try and win a few. they are keeping half the prem on edge right now though so those two game in hand and thier league matches around the FA cup final will be key. I can see them on 40points quite easily, its only 3 more wins so I fail to see how some other sides are good enough to top 41points. here's hoping they fall out again.
Relegated teams get 60 million for failing in the prem. unreal that!! So they get what 70 million to join the prem then 60 mil if they go down? 130 mil???????
Sort of on topic, Portsmouth have been relegated to League 2 tonight. From Premiership & FA Cup winners, to league 2.
yeah, kind of another example of what FFP is supposedly about. They were destroyed by loose regulation allowing shisters to buy clubs. I hope thier fans get control, and build a new improved club and we hear play up pompey again in the top flights.
A big day today for a lot of sides 11 Fulham 34 -8 40 12 So-ton 34 -7 39 13 Norwich 34 -20 38 14 Sunderland 34 -7 37 15 Stoke 34 -11 37 16 Newcastle 34 -17 37 17 Aston Villa 33 -24 34 18 Wigan 33 -23 31 19 QPR 34 -27 24 20 Reading 34 -28 24 Fulham 0-1 Arsenal Norwich 2-1 Reading QPR 0-2 Stoke Sunderland 1-0 Everton Swansea 0-0 Southampton West Brom 1-1 Newcastle West Ham 2-0 Wigan Today has all but relegated QPR and reading not that we didn't expect it and the "magic" redknapp showed at southampton has returned... funny that. But we have seen di canio get 2 wins now and suddenly sunderland are one game away from the magic 40. Wigan's best chance of points this week has gone as well. Increasingly it looks gloomy for the FA cup finalists as those games in hand are too hard for them to rely on. I think at this point we are looking at a straight fight to the line between villa and wigan and villa might just have too much for them. Suddenly Utd v villa and city v wigan takes on a whole new light. If we see villa pick up something and wigan lose i think 4 points jsut might be enough to see off wigan finally
well guys is all looking very interesting at the bottom now. 13 Southampton 35 9 12 14 47 57 -10 39 14 Norwich City 35 8 14 13 33 54 -21 38 15 Sunderland 35 9 10 16 39 51 -12 37 16 Aston Villa 35 9 10 16 42 64 -22 37 17 Newcastle United 35 10 7 18 43 66 -23 37 18 Wigan Athletic 34 8 8 18 39 62 -23 32 19 QPR 35 4 13 18 29 56 -27 25 20 Reading 35 5 10 20 37 65 -28 25 A big weekend of results; A Villa 6 - 1 Sunderland Reading 0 - 0 QPR *Reading and QPR are relegated after timidly surrendering Chelsea 2 - 0 Swansea Arsenal 1 - 1 Man Utd Man City 2 - 1 West Ham Everton 1 - 0 Fulham Southampton 0 - 3 West Brom Stoke City 1 - 0 Norwich Wigan 2 - 2 Tottenham Newcastle 0 - 6 Liverpool It seems to me that Wigan have a bit of fight in them, they were unlucky against spurs after a really good effort at the win. Stoke have got out of it with a few dour grinding results so it looks to me like suddenly its all to play for even as far up the table as southampton. The amount of teams who've taken the foot off the gas after getting a couple of points out of the muck is unreal. Southampton are guilty of it. swansea have not played at all since feburary.Sunderland ust have thought they were safe somehow and newcastle too looked safe a short while ago. This next week is going to be so vital to everyone. Fixtures: Fulham vs Reading Norwich vs A Villa Swansea vs Man City Tottenham vs Southampton West Brom vs Wigan West Ham vs Newcastle QPR vs Arsenal Liverpool vs Everton Man Utd vs Chelsea Sunderland vs Stoke City Man City vs West Brom Wigan vs Swansea Chelsea vs Tottenham This is the week for someone to get right out of this I think. Wigan have to be getting two wins before the FA cup final. Westbrom have been inconsistent and frankly swansea are done. I can see 6 points for wigan here but i think 3 minimum. Norwich and villa is a hard one to call. its a vital game for both so anything could happen. I kind of fancy villa for this one as the norwich defense is woeful. Villa could be out of danger before wigan play swansea! I can see sunderland win v stoke and that leaves newcastle with very sweeky bums. in one weekend they threw away a big GD advantage and suddenly look in trouble. I must say when they won a couple weeks back to go to 37 points they looked safe but I cannot see them getting a result off sam allardyce and andy carroll, especially not on the road. i'm going to be glued to this one cos i think this Saturday could see real drama.
To be fair I cant see Wigan getting out of it now they seemed to have a lot of good chances last few weeks and blown most of them.
Reading and QPR already relegated and there is going to be another one from 1.Wigan, 2.Newcastle 3.Aston Villa 4.Sundeland.
