This video is now up on BBC news website, apparently it took half an hour to park, so twice as long as the video on here! They also give a useful formula for parallel parking, which, in my experience, is one of the biggest problems faced by an awful lot of drivers! I've seen people take 3 or 4 attempts to reverse into a space that was big enough to have driven into, and to be honest, most of them were men!
I saw a woman on one of those annoying chat shows some time ago complaining about men drivers. The host then asked her if she found any part of driving difficult herself, to which she replied " I admit that I cant park or reverse but I am still a better driver than a man "
I passed my test first time, I then passed the Met Police driving test first time, I then passed the London Transport Bus driving test first time and I would still class myself as average! Most men drivers, if they were half as good as they think they are, they would be twice as good as they really are! Go figure!
If you live in Watford, especially West Watford, you HAVE to be good at parallel parking. You could probably get a Challenger tank (on a first attempt) into the space allocated for the reverse parking section of the test here.
It'd be interesting to see their formula! I have my own, and none of my pupils struggle with parking. I honestly don't understand why it is such an issue for people, but then again, Mr H can't park, i often have to 'guide him in' lol
I love that at the end of the clip another car pulls away from a larger space. Wow, if i was them i'd move house as doing that every day would drive you mad (or stop being a div and learn how to reverse).
