I don't know if it has been noted on here or anywhere else in the media that Cardiff boss Malkay Mackay has a vested interest in helping Watford get promoted? I listened with interest on a local London radio station yesterday that Mackay ( a player and coach at Watford for 9 years has promised Watford fans 'to do his upmost to help the team closest to his heart'........... Cardiff certainly have extra motivation from their gaffa it seems.
I bet the Cardiff players dont share in his dreams then. Mackay has been very outspoken about how Watford have used Loans to get success this season. Of course MM will say the right things for obvious reasons but i suspect that his players will not share the same thoughts. For them the job is done and the beach awaits. They are only human afterall.
I echo Frenchy - Malky can say what he wants but all his players are interested in is getting through the game uninjured. I'm not saying they'll roll over, but at the risk of ruining their summer hols they wont be flying in to any challenges. Best thing we can do is get absolutely ****ing stuck in with crunching, hard yet fair challenges in the first 5 minutes.
AGREED. Evans and Meyler can do that and that will be it. We need to play at the same tempo as Barnsley. For sure we have far more talent and ability.
Lads if you allow us time on the ball, we will murder you. If you get stuck in with hard but fair tackles, you are likely to get a man or two sent off. You will have to keep and eye on Kimbo in the middle of the park, Wallace (Burnley) was lucky to stay on the pitch as he gave the lad to very blatant fore arm smashes. It will be difficult for your defence to deal with the obvious speed and strength that we have going forward. The only way I can see you getting us beat is to play Hoofball against us and hope for the best. Good Luck. You will need it.
Have we got anyone who will fly into a tackle? I've been waiting for someone to do that for the last 3 games
You keep thinking that if it helps you. Hsrd and fair tackles DONT get you sent off. Your players will be on the beach. Enjoy the game, its going to be fun.
You're making out like you're Bayern Munich... You're not that good. Bellamy aside our squad is more technically talented. We will out pass you, out play you, hold possession, choke you out the game, and win by a big margin. You will not be able to deal with us. And then we'll wake up. You're still not that good though.
One of our worst performances this season was at Cardiff City and we almost nicked a draw. Well we would have got it if the linesman had not disallowed Simpsons goal for Offside. Replays clearly showed OJ was Onside.
I cant take this much longer, wish I could go to sleep until Saturday morning. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I've had butterflies since we lost at barnsley and I expect those little ****ers to be floating around until Saturday afternoon cant be good for me. on the plus i did manage to drown a couple of the winged beasts with Red Wine last night. Leeds wont take the tonking they got at ER lightly so they may do us a favor, but its in our hands and i believe we can beat Cardiff.
I think Saturday boils down to that stat that's been with us all season - if we score first we usually win, if we concede first we usually lose. If we get the first goal, Cardiff aren't going to bust a gut to get back into it - and we have shown we have a defence that can close down when we need to. If Cardiff score first, it's all over IMO. Our heads will go. I reckon that was the biggest problem against Barnsley. We conceded after four minutes, and the Bristol performance was still fresh in the mind - we lost our heads there and then.
They only drew at Bolton, and technically we are a better side than the wanderers. The question is MM may well want Watford to go up - but has he told the Leeds manager to make sure that the Leeds players roll over like little puppy dogs wanting a tickle (bet that's the first time that phrase has been used about Leeds players), there is no way that Leeds will take any game easy.
An early goal will do us the world of good in more ways than one. As has been said, Cardiff dont need the win, although I'm sure they would like to finish on a high, and the news will soon reach Watford, which will add more pressure on them to win. It is still all very much in our own hands.
Cant rely on that though can we? Even if they are drawing after 93 mins it would be too nerve-wracking...
All we can do is hope we play to our best which we have not done for a good while but as everyone know its a one off and if we do we should fear no one, we are as good as anyone in this league including Cardiff however saying and doing is a different thing, lets hope
Look before the game Malky has to support Watford by saying his team will do their best to win but that is the case for every game. The last thing Malky needs now is to lose and have Watford fans saying he took things easy. We can`t turn up and simply let you win as that would be obvious, all we can do is hope you play better and finish the job yourselves. Also I cannot go to the Watford boards and hope they lose, I can only wish you both all the luck in the world. jck
I don't expect any favours from Casrdiff - any more than Leeds will be doing a favour for a fellow Yorkshire club I hope both games feature sides both trying hard to win - you are obviously clear favourites to go up still - with the bookies even if some of your own fans are having doubts. Recent form for Hull and Watford has been patchy at best - 7 points from last five games - but that is because it has been so close. You only have to equal our result - we can win and still fail. I would rather be in your shoes.
