If there was ever an example of a side that lacked pace it was last night (whole season actually), it was a large factor in us losing that game last night. The Villa front 3 had goals and pace about them, which was more than could be said about our attack. Agbonlahor/Benteke/Wiemann is a good mix of pace, strength and finishing which we couldnt cope with last night. Add to that Lowton bombing up the right and picking off our terrible cross field balls (I hate these passes) compared to our static Phil Bardsley who offered nothing offensively or defensively. We needed pace in January and signed Graham, N'Daiye, and that manager has paid the price so I expect PDC to address this in the summer. I would like to see this team for the last 3 games, we have 3 chances at getting 3 points, ---------------Mignolet---------------- Gardner-------JOS----Killgallon----Colback Larsson------N'Daiye---Vaughan------Rose --------------Johnson------------------- -------------------Graham(Wickham if fit)
1) Because we aren't a big enough club. 2) It will still be deemed as dangerous play as his studs came over the top and on his opponents foot.
Yeah no chance on the rescinded, we have no influence or power of the FA unlike Fergie so the FA will have no hesitation in coming down on us and backing their ref to the hilt. If they give Sess another game ban for appealing it will be a joke but they didnt give Giroud one the other week so we should be ok so its worth an appeal still. You not think Johnson could play the link man safc83?
Jordi Gomez got his rescinded when he got sent off against us. It was a similar challenge so you never know. Paulo sounds confident it will. Does anybody know when the hearing is?
Back to the pace problem, it wa slike watching a Boeing 747 do a 3 point turn last night watching us play
yes, sorry mate, i agree with you on the pace issue, not sure of the team selection mind, mandron looked ok when he came on last night, i think i would go 4-4-2 ....................Mig Colback...O'shea..Mangane...Rose Larrson....Gardner..N'Daiye...Johnson ..............Graham..Mandron
Its just going to be a slog against Stoke, 11 vs 11, like watching 2 double decker buses having a drag race. Heres hoping they think a little bit like we did last night as they have won 2 on the bounce now as well and are on 40 points, doubt it will be 6-1 mind!
For me, pack the midfield and one upfront (would rather have Mandron than Graham). We may already have enough points but another 1 or 2 would definitely be enough, imo. Try and squeeze the next couple of games and if we just get 2 drab draws, that will be enough.
Pott's here guys... IF and it's a big IF, Pulis plays with Jerome he has pace to burn. Personally I would start with the team that beat Norwich. Jerome and Crouch caused them problems all game. Jerome also set up Crouch Vs QPR.... BUT knowing Pulis he will park his bus and I see you winning on Monday. Are we safe on 40pts? Depends on Wigan this weekend.. That, may well decide how Pulis will play it! I also think Newcastle might find it tough at QPR because like the Shammers there is ZERO pressure on them.
Your safe Potts, you need to lose all your games and Wigan need to win all theirs, throw and FA Cup final in between Swansea & Arsenal and it would take a monumental effort to avoid the drop, see you next season hopefully our fellow Red and White friends!
Larsson OUT......anyone in. gone on a while I know but please, what does he offer? sat through every home game last year and take away a free kick every 5/6 games he runs around like a frigging fairy. He done zero all season and haven't got a clue where he was playing last night. Such a poor player.
him and N'Diaye were starting to look canny together in cm at Newcastle and Everton back to the pace or lack of it in our side, we need to address it in the summer, we need pace in the centre half positions, up top and on the wing
Agree about Killa and 5 across the midfield, I'd like to see;- --------------Mignolet---------------- Gardner-------JOS-------Killgallon---------Rose Johnson--Vaughan--N'Daiye--Colback--McClean -----------------Graham-----------------
Danny Cheers but UNTIL the maths say we're staying up.. I don't want to even think about next season... Good luck for the rest but, can we have a pt each next Monday night?
