Wenger thinks he can visit the Southampton Cash and Carry again... Why doesnt he just sack his scouts ! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...lin-targetted-by-Arsenal-for-summer-deal.html
Morgan is the most likely to force a move I reckon as he is by far our best player and will attract attention from most champions league clubs. I don't think he would go to arsenal though. I don't expect him to leave during the summer but wouldn't be surprised particularly if PSG, Milan or any other big team come in for him.
£10 Million . They can get stuffed . would not blame him for a big money move , but hopefully not for a few years yet ! Mind you , by that time we may be able to offer mega bucks wages ourselves .
Seriously? Can't see Morgan wanting to leave whilst we're doing as well as we are. Most likely to force a move would be Gaston if you ask me.
Of course we want to sell Morgan and he wants to go...that it is why he has just signed a new contract (sarcasm mode). 'Ave they not seen the video, Morgan is 'appy 'ere.
The only worrying aspect here is the fact that Morgan always has a winning mentality and on Saturday IMO was the only one that really performed (maybe clyne aswell).he seemed to be the only one that seemed angry about the performance. However there's no doubt he's on a good contract and there's no way he'd go for £10 million.would have to be 15 before cortese even considered. It boils down to him requesting a move which I can't see happening....not yet anyhow.
Morgan is not a peripheral player...he is central to the team. Not a coincidence that he has been tied down by Cortese. Remember Morgan said in his video that Nicola turned down an offer for him after the takeover whilst he was in the room...making a point. There is no way Morgan will be sold in the near future and there is no way Morgan wants to be sold.
we're not doing anywhere near as well as teams qualifying for the champions league amongst whom there would be a lot of interest. I have no doubt Gaston would share the same admirers but I think they would be looking at signing him after he puts in a good season or two.
I have been trying all morning to reassure the very lovely Mrs Godders that this just is not going to happen. and that £10m is an absolute insult. If he does go she's been talking about getting a season ticket for the Emirates next season. When I tell her how much that will cost and the train fare she may well change her mind. Seriously though I think Morgan will only stay if we make some astute signings this summer. I saw his face at the end of the game on Saturday and I think he is fed up with carrying players who have not made the step up to the PL or who have but don't put in the effort. He works his socks off throughout the match only for the side to be let down by some acts of stupidity by others. If Morgan read the Times Rich List of footballers this weekend he would have noticed that no one gets rich playing for Saints.
I really wouldn't be surprised to see him in a PSG shirt next season. Playing for his national team is clearly very important to him and he's a Champions League-quality player, all of these can be achieved playing for PSG, and probably at 5x the salary.
Unlike us Saints fans, Morgan won't change his mind based on one poor match. All the players were gutted after the WBA match. Sometimes you start wrong and then can't seem to get out of it....ask Chelsea, City and Liverpool after losing to us.
Indeed. Rather than start a thread on a Sun rumour, go back a page & read the Morgan interview. See what he says about the club & his development. See the high esteem he places on the chairman. I'm sure the football world is waking up to the talent that is MS, but this guy is a big part of the Saints project, he is going nowhere.
Get real. He's good but one good season in the premier league isn't going to have the best teams in Europe scrambling for his signature. Besides he's literally just signed a new contract. We won't be entertaining any offers for him any time soon.
Morgan is the perfect signing for Arsenal; he is exactly what they need. I am now relying on his love of the South Coast, his decency as a human being, the stubborness of a certain Italian Chairman and the fact the sun probably thought "Good, french, tough tackling midfielder ... Wenger , French, needs good, tough tackling midfielder..."
possibly. They do sometimes pluck relative un-knowns and I think Morgan can compete at the top table. He is 23, and just spent a season where he shone against most midfields in one of the top 4 European leagues and got his best years ahead of him. I can believe a top European side would try and sign him now and nuture him even further.
One very good season in the prem from a 23 year old is going to have pretty much every big club in europe keeping an eye on him, they might not make a bid for various reasons but you can be sure they are interested.
Yeah he'll be on a few lists with a lot of other players. A few clubs might make polite enquiries and they will be firmly rebuffed.
He's just signed a new contract and from all the media stuff he's done I get the impression he's very happy here. He'll stay for now IMO.
